After several hours of protest Novobeogradjana in front of the police station on Wednesday (April 2) evening, due to the arrest of three citizens after a protest in front of the headquarters Serbian Progressive Party in Stari Mercator, those gathered were told that two people were detained for 48 hours, and one person was released.
As the lawyers announced in front of the police station, two citizens who have been detained will be heard on Thursday (April 3) at 11:XNUMX a.m. in the prosecutor's office, and one of them is charged with violent behavior.
Citizens of the municipality of Novi Beograd gathered on Wednesday (April 2) evening in front of the police station behind the municipality building, demanding the release of those detained earlier during today's protest in front of the premises of the Serbian Progressive Party in Palmira Togliatija Street.
In front of the New Belgrade police station, a police cordon was set up with equipment to break up the demonstrations, which do not allow the participants of the rally to approach, reports FoNet.
The cordon stands still and has no contact with citizens.
A woman addressed the crowd and stated that the police officers told her that the detainees "have all legal rights".

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has repeatedly emphasized that the fight against violence and terror that reigns and has contributed to citizens living in fear is of key importance for the country.
Gathering in front of the SNS
The citizens of New Belgrade previously gathered at Stari Mercator to express their protest due to, as they say, arrogant parking during the SNS party rally.
The situation further escalated after, according to the claims of those present, several people were detained, which encouraged the gathered to head towards the MUP building.
The noise and blockade in front of the Old Mercator lasted from 17 p.m., and the citizens whistled at the gathered progressives.
They surrounded the exit from the party headquarters located in Stari Mercator.

As reported by the citizens, the police were also on the scene, and at one point the security pushed away the citizen who was present at the meeting.
