Montenegro achieved the best result among countries Western Balkans in the implementation of the reforms envisaged by the Reform Agenda within the European Union Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, according to data from the European Commission, reports RTCG.
According to the Commission's data, Montenegro fulfilled 32 out of a total of 57 due reform measures, which represents 56 percent of the implementation and the best result in the region.
In second place is Albania, with 33 implemented out of a total of 66 reforms, that is, 50 percent of implementation, while North Macedonia achieved 44 percent of implementation, with 22 implemented out of a total of 50 reform measures.
Serbia implemented three out of 37 reforms, i.e. eight percent, while Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo did not implement any of the due reforms foreseen in the Reform Agenda.
The European Commission assessed that Montenegro meets the prerequisites and general conditions for the third disbursement of funds under the Instrument for Reforms and Growth for the Western Balkans.
In the part related to democratic institutions and the rule of law, the Commission notes that the democratic institutions in Montenegro function mostly satisfactorily and that there is a multi-party parliamentary system, confirmed in the parliamentary elections held in 2023.
At the same time, it is stated that the political system continues to be burdened by polarization and a fragmented parliamentary scene, as well as the vulnerability of institutions to political crises and blockades.
