Until recently, the wholesale price of gas jumped five times, and periodically it was ten times higher. On the energy market, there is an "unprecedented and permanent price increase", announced EnBW, which claims that it sells gas at a price that is below the market average.
A household with an average annual consumption of 20.000 kilowatt hours will have an average monthly cost of 64 euros gross, with the VAT already reduced by 7 percent in October precisely to cushion the rise in gas prices.
The German federal government will intervene in the market with at least 400 billion euros to mitigate the consequences of the enormous increase in electricity and heating prices for citizens.
