"Only Russia is responsible for this war." And only Russia has the power to end it immediately", said US President Joe Biden in today's address before the United Nations General Assembly.
"Russia believes the world will tire and allow it to destroy Ukraine without consequence," Biden said in the speech. "If we allow Ukraine to be divided, is the independence of any nation safe?"
Biden was greeted with applause when he said that America and its allies will stand with Ukraine as it fights for freedom.
Biden also pointed out that the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the occupation of part of the territory of that country represents a violation of the UN Charter and the main principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Speaking about the relationship between America and China, Biden pointed out that Washington wants to act sensibly and responsibly.
"I want to be clear and consistent. We want to treat the competition between our two countries in a responsible manner, so that it does not turn into a conflict", he pointed out.
Biden also spoke about climate change, saying that the latest extreme weather events indicate a potential threat to all of humanity.
"Since the first day of my administration, the US has viewed climate change as an existential threat, not only to us, but to humanity," he said.
The discussion at the United Nations General Assembly will be attended by more than 140 world leaders, including Ukrainian head of state Volodymyr Zelensky, who arrived in New York.
Zelensky is speaking at the headquarters of the world organization for the first time since Russia began military aggression against Ukraine in February 2022.
Aleksandar Vučić will address the General Assembly on Thursday, he said that he will strongly protect the interests of Serbia.
Today, he said that he has had meetings with almost all European leaders, except for Djordje Meloni.
He also said that so far he had the longest meeting with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
Regarding the previous speakers at the UN session, Aleksandar Vučić said that from the leader's presentation it could be seen "that there are completely different views of the world, for the first time the president of Brazil received more applause than the president of the USA", said Vučić.
