I have done absolutely everything, we will increase salaries by about 7.000 dinars and we will raise bonuses for overtime, said the director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, indicating that immediately after the press conference, he will put his signature on all the promises and that he expects that the workers will be able to return after that. to work.
He pointed out that since the beginning of the strike at the Post Office, he has not had official talks with union representatives and that he has not received any official demands, but that he has fulfilled everything he heard about from informal sources.
"We made sure that those who wanted a salary increase would be linear, we made sure that those who worked got it and that it moved within the limits that were possible. We didn't deny the administration either, and this increase has nothing to do with the increase from January," said Đorđević. Everyone who doesn't work will not get an increase because they are on sick leave, he added, stating that everyone who wants to work more will receive additional bonuses for overtime work. . Đorđević points out that with these measures they wanted to meet all the workers, and that he will visit Novi Sad tomorrow because the work stoppage was the biggest there.
"I will give a written order to do it, it is important that we return as soon as possible, 14.100 people and their families depend on this," Djordjevic said. According to him, from November 1, everything that is now standing in some logistics centers, everything that will be distributed, will be included in the reward for those who worked overtime. Asked if the workers who stopped working will suffer the consequences after the strike ends, Đorđević replied that revanchism is prohibited by law and that he will not allow anyone to suffer the consequences.
When asked by a journalist whether the warnings before dismissal, which were delivered to the workers of the Post Office in Gornji Milanovac, will be abolished, Đorđević said that he had to deliver these warnings in order to prevent the consequences that the Post Office and he personally may suffer due to not fulfilling the minimum percentage of work. and that they will do their best to get those people back to work without any problems.
Đorđević emphasized that, if the strike is ended today, all backlogged shipments will be delivered within two days, and that on Friday the Post Office will function so that it will not even be felt that there was a strike at all. Đorđević also presented a new price list of Post Serbia services for citizens. If the package is handed over and picked up at the post office, the service will cost 200 dinars, delivery to a parcel machine is 220 dinars, while delivery to a home address is 350 dinars.
The workers' strike has been going on since October 24
This news comes at a time when disgruntled workers of "Post of Serbia" stopped work across the country, in a strike that began on October 24, first in Novi Sad, Vrbas, Pančevo, then in certain parts of Belgrade, before spreading to other parts of Serbia.
The employees of the "Post of Serbia" have five demands: the immediate reception of the optimal number of executors, because there is a shortage of workers; current salary increase of at least 30 percent; payment of earnings from profits for the previous year by the end of October; an end to "silent" discrimination against working employees and favoritism of individuals and an official guarantee from the Government of Serbia that the demands will be met.
Representatives of the "Sloga" Post Office Workers' Union, who supported the strike, are suffering illegal pressure, after the new Annex to the labor contract was written.
Persecution of "Sloga" trade union representatives who work at the Post Office
"Sloga" strongly condemns the persecution of the representatives of the "Sloga" Post Office Workers' Union, Stefan Mitrović and Zoran Pavlović, and as stated in their press release, if the aforementioned Annex is not signed, their employment contracts will be terminated. Postmen on suspension of work, who do not belong to any trade union, are threatened with warnings before dismissal.
"We believe that this action by JP Pošta Srbije is a brutal retaliation for the current postmen's strike that is ongoing and spreading throughout Serbia. We see this pressure as retaliation for not accepting the meeting of our trade unionists with acting director Zoran Đorđević," the announcement states.
The trade union specifically points out that the status of acting authorized person of JP Posta Serbia Zoran Đorđević expired on March 15, 2022.
"If that same CEO signed the document in October 2023 and several days after the expiration of his authority, there is a serious question about the legal validity of such a document and the country we live in, which violates its own laws and which tolerates violence against workers," they emphasize from " Syllables".
As stated in the announcement, of all the employees who have been on strike since October 24, only Stefan Mitrović, the president of the union, and his colleague Zoran Pavlović received the Annex to the employment contract. These notices were not delivered to them personally, because they refused to sign them, but were published on the notice board of JP Pošta Srbije. Other postmen, who are also on strike and do not belong to any union, received warnings before being fired.
