Deans of eight faculties of the University of Novi Sad sent a letter to the Ministries of Education, Justice, Defense and Internal Affairs with a request to inform them about when they can expect answers to the questions they asked on March 17, regarding security students and protest.
One of the questions relates to what produced the "sound" that caused panic at the March 15 protest in Belgrade, and whether it was some kind of riot control weapon, and if so, what kind exactly, is its use legal, who authorized its use, and why it was used in the first place.
The deans also asked on whose orders and with whose means the student camp in Pionirski Park was financed and organized, and how many students were actually there.
"What was the goal of bringing the students to Pionirski Park? If the goal was to protest against faculty blockades and express the demand that 'students return to the benches', how can we explain the fact that the camp was 'disbanded' the day after the big protest," stated the dean's letter to the ministries.
Who drove the tractors around Pionirski Park?
Also, the question is who and on whose order, with what means and for what purpose organized the delivery of the tractors that were parked around Pionirski Park, who brought the pallets with cubes, and then removed them after numerous complaints from citizens.
The deans also asked the ministries when the complete documentation for the canopy at the Railway Station in Novi Sad, which fell to the death of 16 people, will be published, as well as at what stage are the court proceedings against persons who physically threatened the safety of students and citizens at the blockades.
"Have the persons who attacked the students during the protest in front of the Assembly, who destroyed the agricultural vehicles in the days before the protest in the Pionirski Park zone, been identified and prosecuted", are also some of the questions of the dean, who asked how long the hate speech will be present in the public space, to which the society has been exposed for more than a decade.
The letter was signed by the deans of the Academy of Science and Arts Zoran Krajišnik, the Faculty of Agriculture Nenad Magazin, the Faculty of Science Srđan Ronćević, the Faculty of Civil Engineering from Subotica Milan Trifković, the Faculty of Medicine Snežan Brkić, the Faculty of Education in Sombor Saša Marković and the Faculty of Economics in Subotica Aleksandar Čučković.
