The Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Belgrade issued a statement at the end of January in which it is claimed that, after analyzing the available documentation, Fr fall of the canopy at the railway station in Novi Sad, it was determined that it was incomplete.
As stated in the statement, the conceptual solution is not available, then the contract documentation, that is, the document Contracts and annexes to contracts with all subcontractors - is not complete.
'Is the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade hiding something'
This announcement has triggered a new wave of anger among people who do not believe that the government has any intention to deliver student requests and deliver all the information, but also a new barrage of tabloid headlines.
"Still non-transparent: What is the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade hiding?", was the headline from Kurir, published just a few days after the announcement from the faculty.
The courier announced that the dean of this institution did not answer their questions, including - "considering that the state responded to the request of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and published additional documentation, has what you requested now been fulfilled", as well as "who are professors who assess whether the requirements are met or not".
Branislav Bayat, dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, told "Vreme" that the documents are reviewed by a team of experts, but he does not want to mention anything further.
"I don't want to talk about the names of colleagues, that's what they're looking for," he says, alluding to the tabloids. "People do their job and we act as a socially responsible institution. The procedure is quite simple, learned people review what is published.”
Bayat adds that the Faculty of Civil Engineering will delegate its staff if an expert team from the University of Belgrade is formed, as announced, which should also make a statement about the procedures during the renovation of the entire railway station in Novi Sad.
"We condemn the targeting of individual professors of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, as well as their family members. "We especially and most strongly condemn the media persecution and labeling of students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, as well as all students," says announcement issued by the faculty after giving an opinion on the documentation.
How long have they been participating?
The Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade originally issued a statement on December 19th, in which it is stated in detail what is missing from the documentation that was published about the fall of the canopy.
The list included numerous parts of project and construction site documentation, data on subcontractors, control, technical inspection and numerous other professional details of the construction process.
A few days after that, on the day of the "general strike", January 24, the faculty announced that it was suspending work completely, in order to support the student boycott.
