Students call all of Serbia to Kosjerić
The students invited all of Serbia to protest in Kosjerić, after the objections of the opposition due to irregularities in the elections in both Kosjerić and Zaječar were rejected.
There are street fights in Maripolje. A suburb of Odessa was bombed. In Kiev, a missile of great destructive power hit a shopping center. The evacuation of civilians from all the cities threatened by the war continues. Zelensky rejects Russian ultimatums and bans the work of pro-Russian parties. Biden warns that Russia could use chemical weapons
The Russian army bombed several cities in Ukraine in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Attacks were reported in Kiev, the second largest city of Kharkiv in the east, the port city of Mariupol on the Sea of Azov, the port city of Odessa on the Black Sea and Mykolaiv in the south of the country.
Destroyed business center in Kiev
A large business center was destroyed in Kiev on Monday. The supply of the main, but also of most other larger cities, is increasingly questionable. The projectile that hit the business center has great destructive power.
The German media reports that the recent vice-president of the International Committee for the Buchenwald-Dora concentration camp, Boris Romanchenko, who survived 4 Nazi concentration camps, died at the age of 96 from a Russian bomb.
The siege of Mariupol is a war crime
According to Ukrainian sources, an explosion is heard in Mariupol every 10 minutes. The military administration says that 80 percent of the city's infrastructure has been completely destroyed or damaged. On Monday, the Russians' ultimatum to lay down their arms was rejected.
The UN announced that the humanitarian situation in Mariupol is "very serious", that it has a "critical potential" that the lives of the residents will be endangered due to the lack of food, water and medicines.
The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, called what is happening in Mariupol a "serious war crime".
Borispol expects Russian attack
The mayor of Boryspil, located thirty kilometers southeast of Kyiv, Volodymyr Borisenko, in anticipation of a Russian attack, appealed to the civilian population to evacuate. The reasons, he says, are "military-tactical" because in other places that have been attacked it has been shown that it is easier to defend a city when there is no civilian population. About 60.000 people live in Boryspil.
Evacuation of civilians
The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Irina Vereshchuk, announced that on Monday, 7 people were evacuated from war-torn areas via 8057 humanitarian corridors. Among them, 3007 were from Mariupol. The number of refugees is increasing day by day.
Assassination attempt on Zelensky prevented
Ukrainian officials claim that the Ukrainian counterintelligence service in the city of Ushgorod on the border of Ukraine, Slovakia and Hungary arrested 25 men who allegedly had the task of assassinating the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelnsky and carry out sabotage actions in Kiev and other places. Independent sources have not confirmed these allegations.
Continuation of peace negotiations without results
On Monday, the Russian and Ukrainian delegations negotiated again for an hour and a half, after which the working groups continued their work. Mykhailo Podovlyak, adviser to the Ukrainian president, said that Russian attitudes have become "more appropriate", and Kremlin spokesman Dimitry Peskov said that there must be "concrete proposals" before Putin and Zelensky could possibly meet. It is certain that there is still no relaxation.
Zelensky rejects all Russian ultimatums
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Ukrainian people will have the final say on any eventual agreements reached with the Russians at the referendum. At the same time, he rejected all of Russia's ultimatums: recognition of the annexation of Crimea and the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics; a commitment that Ukraine will not join any Western military alliance; "denazification" and "demilitarization" of the country.
"Ukraine will not fulfill any Russian ultimatum," Zelensky said in another fiery address to the nation. "They will have to destroy us all, then the ultimatum will be automatically issued."
Zelensky insisted that he negotiate directly with Vladimir Putin and mentioned Jerusalem as a suitable place. The Kremlin has so far rejected such demands.
Let Odessa get ready.
On Monday, the Russian military fired a missile at the outskirts of Odessa for the first time. There are 14 Russian warships off the coast of the city. The correspondent of the German RTL reports that the residents of Odessa hope that it was just a warning and that the Russians will not bombard the city with so many important cultural and historical monuments. Before the war, Odessa was one of the favorite Russian resorts.
On the east coast of the Sea of Azov, a Russian landing ship docked in Berdanjsk. Berdansk is an important industrial city and also a popular resort.
Prohibition of political parties
The portal of the "Ukrainian Pravda" newspaper reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree banning the work of 11 Ukrainian political parties that are allegedly pro-Russian. "You will not succeed in splitting our unity or collaborating with Russia," he declared. "You'll get a solid answer."
The German "Spiegel" reports that two of them are represented in the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, and that the "Opposition Platform" is even second in number of deputies behind Zelenskiy's "People's Power".
In the elections, "Strength of the People" won 43,2 percent of the votes, "Opposition Platform" 13 percent. The "opposition platform" was created in 1999 by the merger of several parties, the most famous of which was the Social Democratic Party. Its leader is Victor Medveschak, born in 1954 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, from where his father was exiled as a punishment, the family returned to Zhytomyr, Ukraine in 1960. Medveschak graduated from law school, worked in Kiev as a lawyer, but got rich from various businesses, which is why they consider him an oligarch. It is claimed that he also worked for the Russian intelligence service KGB. He had bought a yacht for 214 million euros.royal romance“ 92 meters long.
Biden on Russian chemical weapons
US President Joe Biden reiterated that Putin is reportedly considering the use of biological and chemical weapons in Ukraine. Previously, Putin said that such weapons were being developed in laboratories in Ukraine and were destroyed by Russian forces.
For Biden, Russia's use of supersolar missiles, which are impossible to intercept, is proof of the weakness of Russia, which is not making any progress on the ground.
Biden, who last week called Putin a "war criminal", clarified that this was "his personal position" and not the official US position. Biden, known for his gaffes, seemed to have missed that qualification of the Russian president. He would have nothing to discuss with the "war criminal" in the future.
Viktor Orban's double game
In Hungary, Viktor Orbán's government is playing a double game. Although he verbally supports the European positions, the media close to him, primarily the "Pesti Televizio" television, report that it would be wise for Zelensky to resign, so that Ukraine could surrender. The reason for this is that in Hungary, as well as in Serbia, elections are held on April 3. The vast majority of Hungarians dislike Russia, remembering the 1956 uprising, and support the European Union, but three-quarters of voters in Orbán's Fidesz party sympathize with Putin and his regime.
Germany in search of non-Russian gas
German "Zeit" reports that Federal Minister of Economy and Deputy Prime Minister Robert Habeck signed a multi-year energy partnership agreement with Qatar in Doha. Germany will buy liquefied gas, and Qatar will buy German medical equipment. Qatar is one of the largest exporters of liquefied gas in the world.
Habek stated that it is not possible to do business "only with democratic states", and that he considers his efforts as "opening the door" to the countries of that region. He continued on to Abu Dhabi. The Emirates have not imposed any sanctions on Russia and have no intention of doing so.
