Rejoice, Serbia! The National Assembly officially beganWe will not give Serbia", a three-day meeting of the promotion of the Movement for the People and the State, for which the center of Belgrade was closed these days.
Since it is a question, as the president of Serbia says Aleksandar Vučić and his supporters, "the largest gathering in the history of Serbia", a special 400-kilogram flag was prepared for him (according to Ana Brnabić's data). That's why the rally started by unfurling the largest flag of Serbia that has ever been seen on the streets of Belgrade.
The 200-meter-long flag of Serbia is unfurled from the intersection of Nemanjina, along Kneza Miloša Street towards the Parliament of Serbia.
The unfurling of the flag and the entire performance were broadcast live by a dozen television stations, although there was no broadcast on Radio-Television of Serbia. At the head of the column were drummers and ministers in the technical government Siniša Mali and Đorđe Milićević. The President of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabić, watched the broadcast from the pink television studio, from where she said that "the silent majority stood up" and after four and a half months saw that "someone is destroying their country".
And among the citizens who wore the Serbian tricolor was, head and beard, Aleksandar Vučić. He was followed by the watchful eye of the camera.
"You can do everything to Serbia, not to let it move, but when a Serb feels freedom, then this happens. I am very happy and tomorrow we will see that Serbia," said Vučić.
Faster, better, stronger
As the President of Serbia stated, the flag of Serbia was there to show that "Serbia is the greatest sanctuary we have".
In reality, a more likely explanation is that the president of Serbia saw that Serbian flags, old and new, big and small, were being carried at student protests for months, and decided to show the protesters that those flags were nothing compared to the 200-meter one he created in front of the National Assembly.
In addition, it is not the first time that Vučić adorns himself with national symbols, in an effort to present himself as a patriot.
Was the largest flag in the history of Serbia carried by the largest number of people seen on the streets of Belgrade? There is every chance that this is not the case, because the cameras of the "Pink" television persistently recorded close-up shots, and shots from a higher height appeared only sporadically.
On them, the depressingly empty surrounding streets, and even "Informer's" "dot software" did not count the attendees.
Vucevic: We wouldn't have saved Serbia if it wasn't for one man
At the opening of the meeting, certificates of appreciation were handed out to the students "who were the first to stand up against terror". SPS leader Ivica Dačić, student Vladimir Balać, farmer Jovo Matić and outgoing Prime Minister Miloš Vučević addressed those present.
Vučević told the crowd that Serbia would not have been saved if it had not been for President Vučić.
"We would not have preserved Serbia as a country in these almost six months of struggle, battle. We would not have survived as a nation or as a country under the onslaught of this colorful revolution if it had not been for the courage, determination and wisdom of one man, and that is President Aleksandar Vučić," stated the formal leader of the progressives.
He invited the people of Serbia to attend the central event of the National Assembly.
"People of Serbia, Serb brothers and sisters, wherever you live, I invite you tomorrow, on Lazarus Saturday, in the afternoon. All together here, together with the president of the country to say: we will not give Serbia! Enough of blockades, lies, deception, tricks. You have stolen our lives enough. We will not give Serbia! Long live Serbia!", said Vučević.
