President of the Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabic stated on Wednesday that the main topics she discussed in The Hague were President Aleksandar Vučić's visit to Moscow and the non-imposition of sanctions Russia and how it could affect Serbia's European path, stating that she explained that it should not affect Serbia's European path.
Brnabić said that she was satisfied that she was in the Netherlands and that she was able to discuss these topics and that she conveyed to her interlocutors that Serbia is proud of its activities.
"I explained what President Aleksandar Vučić did in Moscow and that he went to pay his respects to the shadows of those who gave their lives for the freedom of Europe. Our nation was one of the most suffering nations and we had a place there. Nothing that happens today changes that. I don't see that it can and should affect our European path," Brnabić stated.
According to her, there were "absolutely no questions" about the political situation in Serbia, nor about the "blockades", Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but only about how Serbia's European path is affected by the non-introduction of sanctions against Russia and Vučić's path to Moscow.
She asked the Netherlands, which she stated is one of the most skeptical countries of the Union towards Serbia's European path, to provide support for the opening of Cluster 3.
Brnabić said that Serbia made a strategic decision to communicate much more and to visit countries that are not particularly open to its European integration and added that until now Serbia has not made enough effort to talk "with those who were not particularly friendly" towards the Serbian European path, such as the Baltic, Scandinavian, Nordic countries and the Benelux countries.
"Now we have decided to make that effort and to visit all those countries. To try to change the perception in open conversations," said Brnabić.
