Protests in Serbia
The people of Novi Sad say: "Cowards, call the elections"
Another protest is being held in Novi Sad, where those gathered are demanding, among other things, the calling of elections
The president of the Serbian movement Dveri demands the scheduling of a parliamentary session on Kosovo and Metohija, the cancellation of Europride in Belgrade, cooperation with Russia and consensus on basic national and state issues.
The president of the Serbian movement, Dveri, told the "Vremena" portal that he hopes that this parliamentary convocation will "return meaning and harmony to the parliament", because the new reality is that a third of the MPs are the opposition. He says that it "seems impossible", but he does not see why the opposition "would not vote for good legislative proposals of the government", but also the government for "good proposals coming from the opposition".
He adds that their parliamentary group has already submitted a request for a special session on the subject of the Resolution of the European Parliament and "the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija", as well as for the formation of "survey committees for EPS and the Republic Geodetic Institute".
In addition to these steps, Obradović says that next week he will request the "official cancellation of Europride", for, he explains, "moral, financial, health and security reasons". They are preparing a series of initiatives to support "the family, the domestic economy, the countryside and agriculture".
When asked if there was any discussion within the opposition about minimal cooperation, the interlocutor replied that "so far it hasn't", but that they are open to them regardless of all "ideological and political differences". He adds that he believes that the opposition should stick together in the Assembly on all fundamental issues on which everyone is in agreement.
Third time
"For years, in the Assembly, we have had a constant ping-pong between the current and former government", explains leader Dveri and adds that those who represent the "third, patriotic and sovereignist" way will insist on that difference, both in relation to the "current and the former regime".
He believes that the priority of opposition action should not be attacking colleagues from the opposition, but "criticism of the ruling regime", but he also adds that "there are moments when it is necessary to point out the differences in the opposition".
In the parliamentary groups NADA and Zavetnica, he sees those with whom he can cooperate on the issue of (non)introduction of sanctions against Russia, but he believes that on certain key, national and state issues, there can be cooperation with the People's Party as well.
When asked if there are any contacts with the Serbian Progressive Party, he says that "there are none", except for those arising from the Constitution, laws and parliamentary regulations. He adds that he believes that this communication would be even more normal, if the representatives of the ruling party in the opposition "would not see the enemy".
Boško Obradović says that both the government and the opposition should be interested in the defense and preservation of Kosovo and Metohija as part of Serbia, and that it is a topic on which a "new national consensus" should be reached.
