A group of students of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad announced the blockade of all three buildings of the academy, in order to show solidarity with colleagues from Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade.
The blockade is expected to last 12 hours, from 9 am to 21 pm.
Students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU) in Belgrade announced that from 11:52 a.m. to 12:07 p.m. they will honor the victims in Novi Sad and stop traffic on the Boulevard of the Arts for 15 minutes, completely distancing themselves from political parties and organizations.
In the announcement, they state that the blockade was initiated exclusively by FDU students, supported by the Teaching-Artistic-Scientific Council of FDU, and it will not be interrupted during the gathering.
What do FDU students demand?
As "Vreme" wrote, the students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU) published a list with the names of five people whom they claim were in an organized group that on November 22 physically attacked students who were paying their respects near the FDU, at the announced meeting who died in Novi Sad, and requested that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) file a criminal complaint against those people to the competent public prosecutor's office for violent behavior at a public meeting.
The students demand that the MUP immediately confirm the identities of the people the students named as the persons who attacked them, who were "identified according to media reports".
The identification of the other members of the organized group that attacked the students, whose identities are not yet known, is also requested, and that they also be sanctioned, that is, that a criminal complaint be filed against them for violent behavior at a public gathering.
If it is determined that the people whom the students claim attacked them are in public positions, the students demand that they be dismissed from those positions.
FDU students also demand the removal of the member of the city council, Milije Koldžić, and the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against Aleksandar Jokić, the coordinator of the distribution area of Elektrodistribucija Belgrade.
They also condemned the violence against citizens who demand responsibility "for the crime in Novi Sad", the arrest of activists and police torture.
It is also stated that the violence against FDU students is not an isolated case, which is why FDU students called on other students to start blockades of their faculties.
