Kosovo's Minister of Internal Affairs, Dzheljalj Svečlja, announced that a former Serbian policeman was arrested in Lesko. According to Svečlja's statements, the arrest was carried out as part of an intensive investigation into the kidnapping of Vukašinović, who, as he claims, was captured on the territory of Kosova allegedly kidnapped the security structures of Serbia, reports Kossev.
Svečlja stated that the arrested person was previously integrated into the Kosovo Police, based on the Agreement from 2013, but later resigned.
"There are well-founded suspicions that the arrested person continuously cooperated and provided support to the security structures of Serbia, including in the kidnapping of Vukašinović, who was seriously wounded at the time and is currently being treated in a hospital in Serbia," Svečlja announced.
Kosovo suspects that he participated in the preparations for Banjska
He added that the Ministry of Interior suspects that he was in contact with Serbian intelligence and military structures, that he participated in the preparation of young Serbs for training in cooperation with members of the Serbian Armed Forces, and that at least had knowledge of the preparations for the attack in Banjska.
Serbian sources have not yet commented on this case.
As Pristina's Koha previously wrote, Vukašinović was wounded and taken from the territory of Kosovo, after which he was transferred to Serbia for treatment. His family did not have permission to visit him for more than a month, and his mother was only recently granted a visit in the prison hospital in Belgrade.
According to his lawyer Ivan Ninić, who was the first to inform the public about this case, there are two proceedings against Vukašinović in Serbia - one in connection with the criminal report for his attempted murder, and the other as a suspect before the Serbian authorities.
