"Vreme" investigated the cause of the stampede on Saturday, March 15, in the center of Belgrade, and then the services published their own version through the tabloid
We had counter rallies in response to the student protests, and then students 2.0 in Pionirski Park, as a reaction to the students in the blockade. The services have now, through tabloids, also offered - research 2.0.
A few hours since "Vreme" published the research, which opened Pandora's box and the principle question of what happened on Saturday evening (March 15) at 19:11 in Ulica Kralja Milana, BIA offered its version.
Something can be concluded from it, and most of all, it can be used to watch perfectly clean recordings from public areas, from which the services watch us - every day.
TimeThe map, on which the unknown wave was located, was made by "Vreme" based on hundreds of eyewitness accounts.
What is the official version and what is the service version
"There could not even be a word about the use of a sound cannon, as shown by the analyzes of the security services in Serbia, whose conclusions are brought to you by Kurir." The text of this content appeared on the "Kurira" portal on Sunday afternoon.
First, it is reminded that allegations about the use of a sound cannon on the people gathered in the center of Belgrade on Saturday were strongly denied by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Minister Ivica Dacić and the Ministry of Defense, and then an attempt at a counter-investigation is presented.
They say that the services carefully analyzed the entire event and concluded that it was initiated by some influence on the gathered citizens. However, their version is that it is an influence of a psychological nature (panic, fear, influence of mass psychology triggered by the action of the student guards), and not any physical influence.
Unlike "Vremen" journalists, who had to watch footage provided by eyewitnesses to the event, citizens who were still hit by an unknown wave and knocked most of them to the ground, the services offer footage in excellent resolution, from surveillance cameras.
The first video is very important, on which they base the entire theory about the panic reaction that caused the stampede, which spread to the entire Ulica Kralja Milana. The video shows that, at the corner of Kralja Milan and Dragoslav Jovanović streets, some guards take off their vests and start to retreat, while those gathered around them start to take cover.
It is unclear, however, whether a race of maybe ten people at most can cause such a strong chain reaction and a kilometer away - stick people to the windows of the JDP.
The recordings on "Kurir" have no sound, and eyewitnesses told "Vremen" that it started ringing from the direction of Pionirski Park just before the decisive 19:11. They state that first a loud murmur was heard, and then a roar, but then there was a loud explosion, which one of the people present called a bomb or a cannon shot.
"The details from video number 2 are significant, which clearly show that there was no physical impact on the objects that were in that area (flags, trees, glass) while there was some other impact on the people gathered," it added.
There are eight shots in the text, and the last one shows Terazije, where it can be seen that some people are taking cover before some rush, but in the opposite direction. Not to Slavia, but to the palace of Albania. It shows, concludes "Kurir", that people's reaction was in two opposite directions at the same time.
Research and counter-research - are there any similarities?
BIA claims that the epicenter of the wave was at the corner of Kralja Milana and Dragoslav Jovanovića streets, which "Vreme" also established, based on hundreds of eyewitness accounts. It can also be seen on the map.
The services also conclude that the videos show that not everyone reacts when the inexplicable wave starts, but that some people remain standing, which "Vreme" also noticed.
Also important is the theory of two opposing directions, which the BIA offered as evidence that there was no use of any military means. However, the video shows that the people on Terazije are still moving much more slowly than those gathered in the other direction, and this can also be seen on the map made by the "Vremena" editorial office.
What is the cause of the displacement of people in Terazije? There is a simple explanation that two devices were used or two shots were fired, as well as that the movement of people in the opposite direction is a reaction to one shot, because it can be seen that in this place people are moving more slowly than towards Slavia, that is, the wave is not as strong.
What remains is an ominous roar.
The BIA did not answer where the roar that can be heard on the recordings, which was witnessed by numerous eyewitnesses, came from. It's a "wooshhhh" sound. Some have described it as a cruise missile that swoops in and forces you to move instantly, others as the stomping of thousands of horses.
The speed and regularity of removing people from the roadway is not clear either. Is it possible that the vast majority of people just had to get off the street so quickly under a panic attack? There is also a question for psychiatrists, but also other health professionals - could the reported physical conditions of people have come from pure panic?
The question of all those who have been replaying the videos for more than 30 hours to hear this sound again and understand what happened is - could the mass have produced the roar or is it a comrade-companion who gave away some military device.

The President of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo, Dzemailj Redza, claims that the deputies of the Serbian List "tried to hide" that they had signed the oath
"Our kitchen for spreading hatred and lies is in this building above us, on this same RTS that still spreads lies and hatred today. My generation accepted those lies, it believed that we were doing the right thing and that we were right and the others were evil. And those others thought the same for themselves, and then the wheel of evil started which cannot be stopped and continues to this day for many", said Goran Samardžić, a war veteran, who was the same age as the students when he was in He also became a war invalid in Sarajevo
In order to get out of the political impasse and divisions in society, Serbia should step up its efforts in the fight against corruption, advance reforms of the rule of law, including the election of the REM Council through a transparent and comprehensive process, stated EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos.
It is particularly worrying that media workers in RTS are denied freedom of movement and the performance of professional journalistic tasks, and disturbing threats have been sent to them, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Anyone who condemns the regime's targeting of people from the media, the non-governmental sector, the opposition and universities, must not agree to this targeting of RTS editors and journalists either.
Depriving Dejan Ilić, an intellectual with an impeccable life and work biography, of his freedom, without the slightest meaningful reason, is just one of the brutal indicators that the regime has turned against its own citizens and is entering a phase of terror
