While Aleksandar Vučić with Vladimir Putin at the commemoration of May 9 in Moscow with a pompous parade, his ministers celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the war with a walk in Belgrade.
The procession started from the Memorial Cemetery of the Liberators of Belgrade and headed towards Republic Square, where a festive music and stage program will be held with the participation of artists from Serbia and guests from Russia, the organizers announced.
The event is dedicated to honoring the brave ancestors who gave their lives for the freedom of the Serbian people and the whole of Europe, it added.
The march was led by the Ministers of Economy Adrijana Mesarović, Ministers of Culture Nikola Selaković, Ministers of State Administration and Local Self-Government Snežana Paunović, Ministers of Environmental Protection Sara Pavkov, Ministers of Sports Zoran Gajić and Ambassador of Russia in Belgrade Aleksandar Bocan-Harčenko, the agencies reported.
March in Banja Luka too
A similar march was held in Banja Luka, under the same name.
The march moved along the central city street, from Petar Kočić Park to Fallen Fighters Square, where wreaths were laid at the Monument to the Victims of Fascism.
Marchers wore Georgian ribbons, as well as photos of ancestors who fought against fascism in World War II.
In addition to numerous citizens and members of SUBNOR, the President of the Government of Republika Srpska (RS) Radovan Višković, deputies in the National Assembly of the RS, representatives of the City of Banjaluk, as well as the Third Infantry (RS) Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH participated in the march.
In Banja Luka, on the occasion of the Victory over Fascism Day, Ilija Skrebnjev, military and air force attaché of the Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will hold a reception.
After the reception, a formal academy will be held in the Government of the RS, where Prime Minister Radovan Višković will speak, and which, as announced, should also be attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Serbia, Ivica Dačić.
