Prime Minister Ana Brnabić announced on Thursday evening that her Government canceled the Spatial Plan for the "Jadar" project at the request of environmental organizations, thus all legal acts related to the Rio Tinto company were invalidated.
She said that they also abolished the working group for the Jadar project.
"We fulfilled all the requirements and put an end to Rio Tinto," said Brnabić and repeated that the matter is "finished". In her hands, she held a thick file of everything allegedly related to Rio Tinto and said that she would give it to (Aleksandr Jovanović) Ćuta, who asked for it.
Savo Manojlović seemed reasonable, but it turned out that he was not, Brnabić continued. Instead of waiting for the legal deadline of 15 days for the Parliament to respond to the request on the people's initiative, he spoke of "administrative obstruction" after only three days.
She said that Savo Manojlović "illiterate" and "liar". He allegedly asked that Vučić verify the people's initiative, and the president has nothing to do with it.
Brnabić also said that Manojlović submitted sloppy documentation, and that he was politely told to bring it into line with the law and that the parliamentary bodies would help him in this.
Manojlović, on behalf of the Start-change movement, scheduled a protest in front of the Presidency building on Andrićevo venac on Thursday at 19 p.m.
She also talked about the "hypocrisy of foreigners" who finance the protests and mentioned Đilas and Zelenović as people who took advantage of Rio Tinto.
Brnabić said that the government did all this because it "heard the people" and understood their concern for the environment.
She finished with the usual "Đilas the thief" and "attacks on the family of Aleksandar Vučić", as well as conspiracies against the SNS president. And Rio Tinto was dissolved in order to relieve Vučić because everyone is attacking him.
This step by the Government can be understood as the Rio Tinto issue should be removed from the agenda before the parliamentary, presidential and Belgrade elections on April 3, because it has great potential to motivate people to go out to street protests and vote against the Serbian Progressive Party and Vučić. .
