The President of the National Movement of Serbia, Miroslav Aleksić, assessed that the arrest of the Acting Director of the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, Goran Vasić, is political revenge and part of Vučić's strategy to avoid elections due to a drop in support and popular rebellion.

He emphasized that he supports the students' demand for extraordinary parliamentary elections and that "only pressure" can lead to the fulfillment of that demand.
"It seems to me that we all together missed a big opportunity to exert stronger pressure for the formation of a transitional government when Prime Minister Miloš Vučević's government fell, now we have no choice but to ask for new elections," Aleksić added.
Aleksić assessed the meeting of the President of the European Council, Antonio Košta, with the opposition as "unpleasant" for Košta, because, as he says, he was faced with "strong arguments" presented by the opposition, about the state in which the country is and the relationship of the European Union towards Vučić.
"In 13 years, it should have been clear to everyone whether these people inherit and want to build European values, or whether it is just a declarative story of the people in power headed by Vučić for the representatives of Europe," concluded Aleksić.
