Settlement expansion plan "Belgrade on water" includes the space up to Scales, as well as the left bank of the Sava, across from that settlement, announced the "Belgrade Remains" Activist Network.
"By adopting the planning document, the regime, which is in a great hurry, provides itself with a legal basis for issuing construction permits, which enables the seizure of the entire Sava riverbank, the demolition of the Fair and the spreading of Belgrade's corrupt project on the water like a cancer," the activists said.
They stated that the changes to the project will include the area from Toplana to the Branko Bridge, the Belgrade Fair with part of Ada Ciganlija, the Mostar interchange with the Prokop Railway Station, the branch to Topčider and Savska and Karađorđeva Streets.
"The unhindered destruction of Belgrade, its symbols, identity, air and greenery and habits continues, and the Sava river will be completely trapped behind a wall of senseless solitaires over 20 stories high," said the activists.
They invited the citizens of Belgrade, students, the academic and professional community, political and activist organizations to a legal fight and synchronized writing of objections to that plan.
