On Saturday (November 15), the lawyers of Belgrade will decide on the new president, vice president and the Board of Directors Belgrade Bar Association (AKB).
As he explains for "Vreme". lawyer Marko Pantić, deputy chairman of the election commission AKB-a, slightly more than five thousand lawyers will be able to vote for one of the four candidates for president. There are as many candidates for vice president, and 13 members of the Board of Directors are also elected.
"More than five thousand lawyers have the right to vote, but past practice has shown that around 1.500 lawyers take part in the elections. A quorum of at least 300 lawyers is necessary for voting," explains Pantić.
Voting began at 13:30 p.m., and should continue until late tonight.
As Pantić adds, the elections last eight hours, so the names of the new leadership of AKB should be known on Saturday evening.
Four candidates for the post of president are lawyers Dragoslav Ljubičanović, Vladimir Prijović, Nebojša Perović and Ivan Vukoje.
The person who receives the most votes becomes the president. The same rule applies to the vice president.
13 members are elected to the Management Board. The first 13 lawyers who receive the most votes become members of the new Board of Directors.
