New protest by educators: "Give for salaries, not fake doctorates"

Another protest by educators who today left messages in front of the Government of Serbia: "Not everyone has the money to buy diplomas", "Crna Slavica" and others has ended. The requirements are the same. They are demanding that the initial salary of primary and secondary school teachers be equal to the republican average, and Prime Minister Miloš Vučević says - an increase of more than 12 percent is not possible.

"lists" policy

State register of the ineligible

Under the weight of the affairs that are constantly coming up, we somehow do not notice that this government has so far made various strange lists of organizations, individuals, foreigners, and tried to list children as well. The repressive machinery is working, and the citizens seem to be protected only by the incompetence of those who operate the machine

Suspension of work in schools

The minister demands lists of strikers - unions accuse her of pressure

After the suspension of work on September 16, the Ministry of Education sent a letter to school principals requesting precise data on the number of teachers who suspended work, as well as the fact that school principals are not allowed to inform parents and students about this, and that in that situation the principals are concerned for the safety of children

New school year

White strike and black reality

The struggle to fulfill the requirements for amending the Criminal Code and increasing the salaries of educators is yet to come. At this moment, before negotiations with the Government on August 30, it is too early to talk about possible further protests. If there is a need for them, let's hope that the scenario of shortening classes at the beginning of each school year, seen so many times, is no longer the only way out. In any case, although they are not completely formulated in the same way, the union's demands are certainly not contradictory because they concern the same problems, security and financial, of all educational workers.
