A quarter of a century since the murder of Slavko Ćuruvija: All acquitted, none convicted

On this day 25 years ago, journalist, editor and owner of the newspapers "Dnevni telegraf" and "Evropljanin" Slavko Ćuruvija was killed in the haustor of the building where he lived. The killers fired 17 bullets at him from behind. In February of this year, the Court of Appeal in Belgrade acquitted four former employees of the State Security from charges of participation in the murder.

On Monday, December 5, the Court of Appeal in Belgrade will open a five-day session in which it will decide on appeals against the second verdict of the Special Department of the High Court for Organized Crime, by which the four defendants were sentenced to several years in prison for the murder of journalist Slavko Ćuruvija, just like the first time.
