Traditions in American foreign policy (IV)
American intellectual Walter Russell Mead, in his book Special providence, presented the thesis that in the history of the USA there are four schools of American foreign policy that can be paradigmatically linked to some of the key statesmen. This text focuses on the traditions established by Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, important figures of the American Revolution, while the next issue will discuss the legacies of Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson, who acted during periods of revolutionary change in the regional or world order.
