The President of the Departmental Committee for Health of the Serbian Center Party (Srce), Dragan Delic, assessed on Monday (May 5) that many things regarding the health condition of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, remained unclear, and that some were "incomprehensible and unreasonable" from a medical point of view.
Delić stated in a written statement that many questions remained unanswered by experts, and why, after "strong chest pain" and an obvious spike in arterial pressure, the decision to return to the country, without medical supervision and medical assistance during the ten-hour flight, was made by Vučić himself as a medical layman, reports FoNet.
"It remains unclear why Vučić, who for the last ten years has been suffering from high blood pressure with worsening episodes, did not have a medical escort, for example an internist-cardiologist, in the team? Has the president had periodic checkups in recent years, respecting clearly defined rules and medical protocols? It remains unclear why the public was unconvincingly addressed with broader information by a non-medical person - First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali," said Delic, according to the Srce party.
Delic also pointed out that it is unclear why the public was denied the written report of the expert collegium of the Military Medical Academy explaining why Vučić "suddenly fell ill and suddenly felt bad", as well as why he "had chest pains".
"Expressing the position that the president's health condition is currently stable and satisfactory encourages and pleases us all, but it does not provide the necessary answers. All this is not considered to interfere with the personal rights and decisions of the president, but is a matter of democratic heritage and the universal right to medical truth when it comes to such important figures who decide our fate," explained Delić, retired professor of the Faculty of Medicine.
Delić warned that regular "psychosomatic examinations of the most important political figures" and the consequent written expert reports of the medical council significantly reduce the possibilities of manipulations, assumptions, untruths and introducing confusion into the public and the media space, reports FoNet.
