Myths about protest

Who and why is saying that the Russians are behind the students

The regime needs the European Union. How do you explain to her why the students are protesting and why it is taking so long, while avoiding questions about the actual demands of the protest? By spinning that the protests were orchestrated from the outside - and is there a more useful conductor than the Kremlin? A part of the opposition joined the attempts to delegitimize the protests by claiming that they were the result of "Russian malign influence". They would like to convince Brussels that they are the only alternative to the regime in Serbia

Truth and myths: Serbian-Russian special ties

Both service and company

Invoking Russian intelligence gives legitimacy to claims about the Maidan and the color revolution in Serbia, which the government is promoting. In addition to convincing the already convinced, these narratives also try to influence the pro-Russian protesters - to show that the protests are not just a spontaneous rebellion, but that the European Union is allegedly behind them. Getting used to the nightmare

Ukrainian authorities are continuously asking citizens not to ignore warning signals and to use shelters. Even with the traumatic experience of getting used to sirens from 1999, it is impossible to fully understand how a person can tolerate that stomach ache, how he can continue to sleep, work, study, drive a car, drink coffee when he hears that sound. Is the anxiety ever truly curled up and repressed or - as in the case of Voja Čolanović - does it become an "unfolding anxiety"

A year of living dangerously

"We are in a third world war whose beginning we cannot define exactly, future historians will debate when exactly it began. It is a process that develops quietly and gradually, extending from one battlefield to another, far from each other, and yet the impotence of politics and the strength of the economy, which has assumed primacy, are evident in all." — Günther Grass, "Vreme", November 13, 2014.
