Why do people read?

Why do we read?

Someone manages to express himself, his life, his identity, his loneliness, in a way that is at the same time so unique and so precise, that the writing can touch another person, someone who, perhaps, does not have the gift, but from the same feeling of misunderstanding and loneliness, he swallows book after book until he comes across an author whom he will never meet, who is no longer alive or does not want to leave his native Honduras, and who becomes a kind of best friend, the only person with whom he feels connection, understanding and similarity, thanks to whom he feels that he is not alone in the world

Are you sure you know your address?

Serbian Post does not deliver a huge number of parcels and claims - the reason is often incomplete addresses or the fact that the parcel does not fit in the mailbox, so anyone can tamper with it

Books: Come on, babo, the head!

A great formula for an elixir of nostalgia

The strongest impression Come on, babo, the head! leaves precisely comprehensiveness, i.e. completeness and an elegant walk on the very boundary (always welcome, sincere and heartfelt) exaggeration and articulateness as a reflection of a clear broader concept

Why books in a non-book age?

Success and persistence despite challenges

The story told about the career of the actor and manager Branko Cvejić destroys the dangerous and harmful myth that here, in this region, you can only succeed if you follow the soles of your feet, if you always and everywhere put yourself first, if you are reckless and selfish

Croatian customs: The import of books from Serbia is not prohibited

Serbian Diaspora Minister Đorđe Milićević recently complained that he and his delegation were prevented from passing Croatian customs with children's primers. His claims and the media reporting that it was a "Cyrillic customs duty", were disputed by the Croatian customs, saying that they respected the customs regulations of the European Union

The state also bought unsuitable books

The results of the purchase of books by the Ministry of Culture are the product of procrastination, improvisation and abuse, and the commission decided based on geographical and political key - say the publishers. Books by right-wing writers were bought, but not by Vaska Pope, Ksenije Atanasijević, the best poetry book...

Record of an addict

When I take the princess to the ballet, which lasts an hour, I carry at least three books. And all three are read to me at the same time. That's why it's best to bring a fourth
