Taiwan, the West with a drop of China

Are Taiwanese afraid of an attack from China and what do they think of Trump, and why this Asian island liberally and admiringly accepts everything the West has to offer - except its easy attitude towards foreigners

How to tame a Fire Horse

China is entering the Year of the Fire Horse - the first time in sixty years since the disastrous Cultural Revolution began in the year of the same name. Yuan vs. Dollar: China's Monetary Defense

The growing use of the yuan in cross-border trade, energy arrangements and borrowing by developing countries reinforces the impression that China is quietly undermining the dollar's global dominance. However, without full convertibility, the yuan can hardly take the place of a global reserve currency

Corruption is rust, faction is cancer

While in the West there is speculation about "missing generals", in Beijing the role of party supervision and the way of controlling the army is actually being redefined. It is not just a purge, but a gradual process of transferring control mechanisms from humans to algorithms. Artificial intelligence is becoming a key loyalty filter among both military and civilian leaders

Why do you say friendship, but you mean bare interest

From the beginning of 2022 until today, China has invested slightly more than six billion dollars in Serbia through investments and construction - according to the data of the American Entrepreneurial Institute (AEI) think tank. For the sake of comparison, for the same period of time, more than nine billion were invested in Hungary. In the Western Balkans, Serbia leads in terms of the number of Chinese investments, but when you look at the world map on the AEI tool that maps all Chinese investments, you can see that there are still many countries, on different continents, with which China has a "steely friendship".
