The fight for the survival of journalism

Thirteen years after the progressives came to power, the media in Serbia found themselves at a crossroads: one way is complete destruction and disappearance, and the other is to survive on the devices until they are turned off because they are financially dependent on donor aid from abroad. Discussions that take place behind closed doors look more like "arm wringing" than a friendly discussion of those who understand the importance of professional media for any free society.

EC: Serbia will be able to import Russian gas

The regulation on the import of Russian gas proposed by the European Union does not apply to countries that are not its members, so Serbia will be able to continue importing, but it will not be allowed to end up in Hungary.

Election of members of the Council of REM: Only Sešelj did not come to speak

The Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) should play a key role in the control of electronic media. The president of NUNS, Željko Bodrožić, says, however, that during the election of members of the SNS Council, he implements complete lawlessness because he wants to secure a majority at any cost.

Center, periphery and corruption

While part of the public was disturbed by the fact that Aleksandar Vučić spoke with the European Union after March 15, it does not seem that this means anything to Brussels. Perhaps the new student pilgrimage to Strasbourg brings a little emotion into that fenced political space as well

Is the European Commission tightening relations with Vučić?

After the meeting with the President of Serbia, Ursula von der Leyen stated that Serbia must implement reforms for EU accession. Although not so detailed and harsh, some interpret this tweet by the president of the European Commission as a hint of a decrease in her support for the authorities in Serbia.

European Commission: Control of the environmental standards of the "Jadar" project is the responsibility of the Serbian authorities

Although the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, recently said that the "Jadar" project will not be started until "the Germans guarantee that we will have clean rivers and mountains", the European Commission claims that monitoring compliance with environmental criteria in the case of lithium mining is the job of the Serbian authorities

Post-election campaign: Waiting for the European Commission

The European Parliament said what it had to say about the Serbian elections held on December 17 - nothing good. Now it is the turn of the European Commission, the executive power of the European Union. Her moves will determine the future of Serbia, both internally and externally. That is why the delegation of Serbia against violence is going to Brussels
