"I urge all my millennials, peers and young people who are joining us to look for signs and symptoms that they are delusional by the Democrats. Don't confuse the socialist dream with any reality. If you notice any signs of this politically incurable disease in yourself, get help."
This is how a close associate spoke about the Democrats in America Donald Trump Charlie Kirk, who was killed on Wednesday, September 10.
He "owed" young Republicans, had a mission to transfer politically undecided young people, or those who were "seduced" by the Democrats, to the "right" side, the one headed by Donald Trump. Going from college to college, he convinced students that the Democratic Party preaches socialism, and that socialism is the worst enemy of the state.
Assassination in Utah: The manhunt for Charlie Kirk's killer continues
"Cultural Marxism permeated all of Europe and was the driving force that brought France - the nation of freedom, fraternity and equality - to the brink of ruin," he said.
He was so obsessed with socialism, which he always associated with Democrats and liberals in the US, that he said that "liberal-socialist women make generalizations about all women, as if they were some kind of monolithic voting bloc of disenfranchised, victimized citizens."
"The truth is that while those on the left - especially the far left - claim to be tolerant and accepting of diversity, in reality they are quite intolerant of anyone who does not accept their radical views," he said.
Why Charlie Kirk was important
In America today, the appearance of a young man among the right-wing is not at all rare, although as a rule more older people vote for Republicans than younger people. However, what Charlie Kirk has brought to Donald Trump is a shift towards suaveness while preaching right-wing bigotry wrapped in a wafer – racism, white supremacy, the army on the streets of Washington, the control of big cities, the ban on abortion, the mass expulsion of illegal migrants...
Kirk was a young man who went to universities, he spoke to the future highly educated people of America and he spoke in a specific way - nice enough for them to accept him, but sharp enough to repel potential radical rightists.
As America is a society deeply divided into two dominant parties, Democratic and Republican, which cannot stand the arrival of Donald Trump so much that they practically have no common political denominator, Kirk helped a lot as an influencer in a suit. That young people would rather accept Trump's rhetoric and everything he offers, no matter how brutal it is.
Even those who did not agree with what he said, acknowledged that he is an outstanding organizer and that he managed to penetrate the young electorate, in a way that the Democrats failed to do.
A man for colleges - without a college
Kirk was the son of an architect who grew up in an affluent suburb of Chicago, and attended a community college before dropping out to devote himself to political activism. He unsuccessfully applied for West Point, the elite American military academy, writes the BBC.
He often jokingly referred to his lack of a college degree when engaging in debates with students and academics on esoteric topics such as postmodernism.
At the age of 18, he founded a conservative movement in 2012 Turning Point USA. His role gained importance when Barack Obama was elected president of the USA in 2012. Kirk toured the country speaking at Republican events, many of which were popular with members of the ultraconservative Tea Party movement. Turning Point USA today it has branches in more than 850 faculties.
Trump said that no one understood the heart of the youth better than Charlie Kirk.
In the presidential elections in November 2024, he played a key role in ensuring Trump the support of young voters. The events he organized at universities across America were usually very well attended. He targeted potential young voters on social networks.
And all that very successfully. Meanwhile, the 79-year-old Trump has grown by six percentage points in the 2020-18 age group, more than any other, in relation to the 29 presidential election. His comrades say that he was always smiling, so they called him a "happy warrior" for the Trump cause.
Some American portals write that Kirk faithfully and enthusiastically spread numerous Trump lies and conspiracy theories, such as the alleged "election fraud" when he was defeated in the presidential elections, or the attack on the Capitol. Charlie Kirk was an ardent opponent of abortion.
