General Assembly of the United Nations on Monday, it adopted a resolution reaffirming its support Ukraine and its territorial integrity, on the third anniversary of the beginning of the Russian invasion of that country.
The United States of America failed to get the UN General Assembly to adopt its resolution demanding an end to the war in Ukraine, without mentioning Russian aggression and the territorial integrity of the attacked state.
The text of the resolution prepared by Ukraine and its European allies was adopted, and it received 93 votes in favor, 18 against, including the USA, and 65 abstentions.
A competing draft resolution prepared by the US, which initially called for an immediate end to the conflict without mentioning Ukraine's territorial integrity, was largely modified by the adoption of several amendments by European countries, which introduced a reference to territorial integrity and called for a "just peace".
The modified text clearly states that Russia invaded Ukraine in violation of the UN Charter.
The amended text was adopted with 93 votes in favor, eight against and 73 abstentions, among which was the USA.
