Donald Trump has said that a full ceasefire in Ukraine is likely to happen "very soon" and that he will be adamant that the war ends in order to stop the killing and preserve the money the US has spent on military aid to Ukraine.

"We will soon have a complete ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, according to CNN.
According to him, "as we speak" an agreement on the division of the land between the two states is being negotiated.
"We will have a contract, it is currently being negotiated. The contract regarding the division of the country and similar things is being negotiated while we are talking," said Trump.
He said he would be persistent in insisting that the war end, to stop the killing and save the money the US has spent on military aid to Ukraine.
