Los Angeles police are investigating the death of Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner, who were found with stab wounds in their home in the Brentwood neighborhood, according to US media.
American actor and director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner were found dead in their home in Los Angeles.
The American media reports that there is a possibility that it was a murder, and the Los Angeles Police Department announced that it was an "apparent murder."
Citing unnamed sources, NBC reports that the Reiner couple was found with stab wounds.
Rob Reiner, known for the films "The Princess Bride", "When Harry Met Sally" and "A Few Good Men", was 78, and Michelle Singer Reiner was 68 years old.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic deaths of Michelle and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss and ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time," his family said in a statement obtained by Variety.

Firefighters were called to a home in Brentwood Sunday afternoon, where they found two bodies.
Authorities did not immediately explain the circumstances of their deaths, reports CBS.
The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement that the Homicide and Robbery Division was on the scene, but did not provide further details about the investigation.
Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Allen Hamilton said police are "not looking for anyone as a suspect, or as a person of interest, or in any other way, and will not do so until they investigate and move forward."
Hamilton also noted that the Los Angeles Police Department has not identified a suspect at this time.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said the Reiners' deaths are a devastating loss for their city and the country.
California Governor Gavin Newsom said he was "heartbroken by the tragic loss of Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer Reiner."
