Conversation between Trump and Putin: Is the end of the war in Ukraine in sight?

Donald tramp announced on his account on the social network Truth Social that he had a "long telephone conversation" with the Russian president Vladimir Putin.

According to the words of the American president, he agreed with Putin that it is necessary to end the conflict in Ukraine, and that Russia and the USA intend to start negotiations on the solution of the Ukrainian conflict without delay.

Putin invited Trump to Moscow. He supported one of Trump's main theses that the time has come for Moscow and Washington to work together, according to the Kremlin. They agreed to continue personal contacts and organize a meeting.

After Putin, Trump spoke by phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The President of the USA wrote on the social network Truth Social that the conversation with Zelensky "went well", and pointed out that, "just like Putin, Zelensky also wants peace".

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegsett also spoke. He said that a return to the borders that Ukraine had until 2014 is not possible, while the Deputy President of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, assessed the statement of Ukrainian President Zelensky about the exchange of territories between Russia and Ukraine as meaningless.

At the same time, the fighting in Ukraine does not stop. The strongest fighting is still taking place in the east of Ukraine, in the direction of Pokrovsk. Kiev was targeted by Russian rockets, at least one person was killed.

The Ukrainian armed forces, on the other hand, carried out a strike near the reactor of the nuclear plant in Zaporozhye.

Berbock: Kyiv and Europe should participate in the negotiations

The German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Analena Berbock, said today, after the talks between the American and Russian Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, that both Kiev and Europe should participate in the peace talks on the end of the war in Ukraine.

"We can achieve peace only together." And that means: with Ukraine and Europeans. We must go down this road together so that peace can return to Europe," said Berbock, reports the Brussels Politiko.
