The Iranian Revolutionary Guard - the elite military formation of the Islamic Republic - announced, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, that in retaliation for the American attacks, enemy bases in the region were attacked.
Recently, Iran has already fired missiles several times at Kuwait and other countries in the Persian Gulf, where the US military maintains bases that are only a few hundred kilometers away from Iran as the crow flies.
Formally, the truce has been in effect for almost two months. However, lately there have been frequent individual attacks between the warring parties. At the same time, difficult negotiations are underway on a framework agreement between the US and Iran to end the war.
The war began on February 28 with attacks on Iran by the US and Israel.
Trump: Iran still has a fifth of its missiles
Despite massive airstrikes by the US and Israel, Tehran still has a fifth of its missile arsenal, according to US President Donald Trump. Most drone factories, launch pads and rocket production facilities have been disabled, he said in an interview with NBC News.
"But they still have the capabilities. They have a few more missiles and a few drones. I would say percentage-wise, maybe 21 to 22 percent more of their missiles," Trump said.
It remained unclear what Trump's assessment of Iran's missile arsenal was based on. Recent media reports, citing US officials and intelligence, have suggested that Iran has preserved a large part of its missiles, writes "Spiegel".
The New York Times reported in mid-May that Iran still possesses about 70 percent of its mobile launch pads, as well as about 70 percent of its missile arsenal. The Washington Post reported similar figures.
However, during a hearing in the US Congress, a senior representative of the US military called those figures inaccurate - without citing his own data. Since the beginning of the US-Israeli attacks on Iran at the end of February, Trump has repeatedly emphasized how successful the military strikes against Iran have been.
