"Hell, the Democrats should nominate someone else before it's too late," resigned entrepreneur Andrew Young, who once ran for the Democratic presidential nomination. Most, however, believe that it is already too late for the Democrats to put someone else, younger, in the race.
A public opinion survey from June 24 shows that 46,2 percent of Americans would vote for Trump, while 45,2 percent would entrust Biden with a second term in a row in the White House.
With such a close difference, the duels of the presidential candidates can significantly affect the final outcome.
Exalting "liar" and "old man"
It was a bit sickening to watch Trump brag about winning some club golf tournaments and tell his opponent how to beat him on the course in order to convince the audience that he is in top shape, while Biden, with the same agenda, challenges him to some kind of competition in driving.
They demonstrated the extent to which they could not stand it by not shaking hands at the beginning or end of the duel. Their bigotry is a reflection of a divided America.
The gloomy atmosphere was also contributed to by the fact that there was no audience in the TV studio, only a pair of CNN moderators.
There is great interest in the duels of American presidential candidates all over the world. However, one of them will be the "leader of the free world", that is, the man with the greatest influence on war and peace, global politics and economics.
While the Serbian government and the majority of Serbs wish for Trump's return to the White House, liberal Europe fears it. Trump symbolizes the policy of unscrupulous populism and a return to national egocentrism, which is slowly but surely eroding the traditional political order established in the Western Hemisphere after the Second World War.
The German "Spiegel" states with an almost tragic undertone that in fact neither of them should be presidential candidates in the United States of America: on the one hand "a convicted felon and a notorious liar", on the other a wobbly old man who is unable to formulate your thoughts.
Biden's debacle
Biden and his strategists wanted to use the opportunity to convince the Americans that he is a better candidate and capable of another four-year term, but they achieved the exact opposite, states "Spiegel".

Most American television commentators, even the "anti-Trump" ones, talked about the "debacle" of Joe Biden. "It was painful," said Van Jones, a former top adviser to Barack Obama.

He said that under him America had the greatest economic growth in history, that under Biden more people died from Corona than under him, that he implemented the largest tax reduction in history, that the Democrats want to implement abortion (kill babies) even in the eighth and in the ninth month of pregnancy, even "after giving birth", that illegal immigrants bring only drugs and murder to America...
Trump said everything his supporters wanted to hear.
That was also the answer to the question of whether they will recognize the results of the election this time. Well, only "if they are fair and honest", said the former president who, after the 2020 presidential elections, shouted at the top of his voice that he was stolen and has not stopped to this day.
Biden's supporters, or, rather, those Americans who are horrified at the thought that Trump could move into the White House again, were hoping for something, expecting something from their candidate, to convince them, despite all doubts, that he the right one who can lead America again in these dangerous times. They got nothing.
Trump's supporters got exactly what they expect from their favorite - a chaotic performance against everything and everyone, a narcissistic macho performance, his characteristic grimaces. They were right to celebrate.
