After the German authorities deported 28 Afghan citizens convicted of serious crimes, they were released in Kabul with the explanation that the crimes they committed were not relevant. Meanwhile, the German authorities are significantly tightening their migrant policy
Afghan citizens who were deported to Kabul by Germany a week ago, including serious criminals, are already free, a Taliban representative confirmed, as reported by Al Jazeera.
"They were released after their families confirmed that they would not commit any more criminal acts," said a representative of the Taliban regime in the Qatari capital, Doha.
"Criminal acts are not relevant"
For the first time since the Taliban took over, Germany deported Afghans convicted of crimes back to their homeland last Friday, Chancellor Olaf Scholz's spokesman said.
"Germany's security interests clearly outweigh the interests of protecting criminals," the spokesman said, according to Politico.
As reported by the German ARD, upon arrival in Kabul, all 28 Afghan citizens were detained, but they were released after a few days.
Among them are difficult offenders and one convicted rapist of a minor. All of them have already served their sentence in Germany.
As reported by the German media, the crimes for which the expelled Afghans were convicted in Germany are "not relevant" for the regime in Kabul.
Germany is tightening its migrant policy
The operation was prepared by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the Ministry of the Interior. The deported Afghans were brought to Leipzig overnight from detention centers, were given 1.000 euros in cash and were accompanied by a doctor, according to a report in the German newspaper Spiegel.
The German government initiated the deportations using Qatar as an intermediary, the report added.
Deportations of convicted criminals from Germany to Afghanistan and Syria have been happening more frequently in the last few weeks, while the migration debate is once again stirring up the German public.
In the summer of 2021, Germany halted all deportations to Afghanistan due to the security situation as US forces withdrew from the country after 20 years, while the Taliban returned to power.
The flight to Kabul came just days after German authorities arrested a Syrian suspected of belonging to the Islamic State for allegedly stabbing three people in the German town of Solingen.
The German government has also announced that it will implement a stricter migration policy in the future, writes Politico.

With the imposition of a state of emergency and curfew, the use of the military, and eventually arrests, protesters in Chile were persecuted and punished. Decrees were introduced whereby university rectors were appointed by the army, while campuses were nationalized or privatized. It was only in 1987, near the end of Pinochet's dictatorship, that the students managed to force the regime to make concessions through a new series of protests and restore some kind of limited autonomy.
Since money has more value in America than in other parts of the world, budget allocation is not only a matter of the functioning of the state, but a matter of the priorities of those in power. The rich will have more, the poor even less, and all together will be more in debt than before
