Although the names of two candidates are on the ballot, this is the declaration of the American citizens about Donald Trump. Not only the prices at "Walmart", where the majority of the population gets their supplies, will depend on the November vote, but also what their country will look like.
Za "Time" from New York
Messages from the address of the election campaign Donald Trump they started arriving on mobile phones and e-mails of residents New York at a time when police announced that members of the Secret Service shot a gunman in West Palm Beach, and the FBI launched an investigation into a new assassination attempt on the Republican presidential candidate. "Nothing will slow me down", "I will never give up", was the short text under the logo "make America great again", pushing into the background everything that happened after the presidential debate with Kamala Harris, who exposed the weakest sides of her political rival.
The SKS semi-automatic rifle leaning against the wire fence of the "International Golf Club" became much more important than Trump's claims that immigrants in Springfield eat dogs, and the name of Ryan Wesley Root, who stalked the former president with a sniper scope in the bushes, far more important than the words of the Republican leader how democrats support killing newborn babies. All those who spread lies about Haitians in Ohio on obscure portals and twisted the meaning of abortion rights became preoccupied with a new question, to which even the police do not have an answer: how did a construction worker from Hawaii, who currently has jobs in North Carolina, find out that will the former president play golf in Florida, and managed to approach him with a weapon within a few hundred meters?
The fact that Ruth was wholeheartedly on the side of Ukraine in defense of Russian aggression, that he traveled to Kiev, tried to be a volunteer and tried to recruit others who want to fight, and called Trump a "fool" and a "fool" who should "to assassinate", have given new impetus to all those who repeat that only Trump's assassination can prevent his victory in the elections on November 5.
Unlike Thomas Crooks, who wounded Trump in Butler, Root didn't get to use his weapon despite sneaking around the golf course for a full twelve hours. The barrel of his rifle, which was sticking out through the fence, was noticed by one of the members of the Secret Service and fired in that direction. The gunman managed to escape in a black Toyota to I-95, which runs from southern Florida to the Canadian border in Maine, but was arrested by police after a passerby who saw what was happening on Summit Boulevard received a photo of the license plate. All those who waved their hands skeptically were silenced by FBI Special Agent Jeffrey Veltri, saying that what appears to be an assassination attempt on Donald Trump should be taken "extremely seriously."
RHETORIC AND ATTACK
Regardless of the fact that President Joseph Biden promised that the Secret Service would ensure the "security of the former president", and the Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris said that political "violence has no place in America", Trump reacted with extreme suspicion. His first words spoke of people "who will do anything to stop us", telling his supporters "not to be afraid" and that he would not "stop fighting for them". Soon after, he went a step further. In a guest appearance on Fox, he accused Biden and Harris of the incident in Florida, claiming that Ryan Root believed their words and acted in accordance with those messages, adding that "their rhetoric is the reason they are shooting at him."
Hand on heart, it is true that Biden and Harris constantly say that Trump represents a "direct threat to American democracy", but he does not oblige them either, claiming that "these are people who want to destroy the country". Whether it is worse to attack democracy or the country, the voters will decide.
That America is, as Secret Service special agent Rafael Barros said, "in dangerous times", was confirmed by the post of Elon Musk, who wrote on his platform X that "no one is trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala". Despite the fact that Musk later deleted it and explained that it was all "a joke", the federal agency that protects high-ranking government officials said that it is aware of Musk's announcement and that it is investigating all threats directed against its wards.
BACK TO THE OLD WORRIES
But when the passions around the new assassination attempt subside, the citizens of America will return to their old concerns. Regardless of what voters say that the choice of the new head of the White House will be judged by the economy and inflation, one thing is more than clear: America declares itself on Donald Trump. The outcome of the November elections will not only depend on the prices at "Walmart", from which a full cart of food is pushed for two hundred dollars, but also what their country will look like. Will it be a country led by a man who claims that immigrants in Ohio are killing the neighbors' pets, or will the country be led by Kamala Harris, who scoffs at such claims but doesn't say enough about her political agenda. Maybe the Democratic candidate doesn't have a clear picture of how to lead the country, but she clearly knows how to deal with her political rival, which she showed during the presidential debate in the ABC studio. It was only necessary to attack Trump's narcissism.
To make matters worse for Trump, Democrats had announced such a strategy days before, but instead of thinking about how to handle it, he was relaxing at his second golf club in New Jersey, nonchalantly saying that he was holding regular meetings with his team and that "there is not much that can be done". It is possible that he was right, character is destiny, as the leaders of the Democratic Party used to say.

FLATTERING AND VANITY
Harris herself said at the National Convention in Chicago that the world's tyrants and dictators know very well how easy it is to manipulate Trump with the help of "flattery and adulation", former President Barack Obama talked about his "obsession with the size of the crowd" and "twisted conspiracy theories", while Bill Clinton described him as a person who "talks about himself all the time". Unlike Trump's advisers, who relied on his charm, Kamala Harris' team approached it all much more zealously. Based on what could be seen, they knew they needed to pounce on Trump's vanity.
Leaving unanswered the host's question about why Joseph Biden hasn't done anything to stop the massive influx of illegal immigrants, Harris put all the blame on Republicans for making it impossible to pass the bill, and started talking about how people are leaving Trump's rallies because of exhaustion and boredom. In an endless sea of things to say about America's problem with the immigration system, for which the administration of which Harris is the vice president is directly responsible, Trump took the road of no return by talking about his grand rallies and the shame of a country where immigrants eat the neighbors' pets, and armed gangs from Venezuela are terrorizing Aurora. He proved to be what his political opponents described him to be - obsessed with the size of the crowd and prone to bizarre conspiracy theories.
Instead of focusing on the weaknesses of the Democratic administration, some of which are more than obvious, whether it is the constant increase in the cost of living or the fact that, for example, Springfield, which has a population of 58000, is inhabited by between 12 and 20 thousand immigrants from Haiti, which represents a considerable challenge for the school system and the labor market, Trump was on the defensive during the debate, spending time on extremist claims that have no basis in reality. Ironically, just as Joseph Biden showed during their duel that he could not control the situation due to age, Donald Trump found himself unable to control his nature, questioning his ability to lead America. If his political opponents can manipulate him domestically, why can't anyone in the world who is not friendly to America be able to do the same?
Trump can now repeat how everyone saw his "monumental debate victory over comrade Kamala Harris", but that is as true as his claim that immigrants eat pets. Even the members of his party publicly say that it was a "missed opportunity", and the commentators on "Fox" describe a "tough night for Trump", in which Harris managed the situation better.
However, one bad night for the Republican leader does not mean a solution to the problem of Kamala Harris.
Regardless of the fact that there is no doubt that she was better in the debate, it is clear that this will not fundamentally change the presidential race. Mocking a political rival, ironically raising an eyebrow and waving a hand cannot replace the absence of a clear political vision. It is not enough to say that this is an election between a weirdo who spreads bizarre stories about immigrants and someone who talks about the bright future of the country, it is superfluous to remind that Kamala Harris is not Donald Trump or Joseph Biden, voters are looking for answers to the problems in which their country is. Her honeymoon with voters is over, and countering Trump's dark visions of America as a nation in decline by spreading feelings of happiness sounds empty to many. Citizens are looking for more than fluff stories about Democrats as "joyful warriors". Most of Kamala Harris's strategy rests on defining herself as a person of stability and continuity in contrast to the unbalanced Trump, but it is increasingly difficult to defend such a position by attacking a man who has been tried to kill for the second time in a few months.
TIED RACE
Because of all this, the election race, with a slight advantage that Harris has, is mostly even, so that the key role, as things stand, will be played by undecided voters in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Among them are quite a number of those who believe that the country is going in the wrong direction, which is a widespread thinking among the people of America. It is not so much a matter of the absence of a clear strategy as of the feeling that everything can be better. Simply, the citizens are not satisfied with the economy, the level of inflation, the immigration policy and the fact that the international scene, in which the USA plays a key role, looks extremely uncertain. Voters are not calm, and Kamala Harris does not offer clear solutions to the problem.
Therefore, it is obvious that people do not support Donald Trump because he is a good candidate, his flaws, weaknesses and limitations are more than visible to everyone. Most of the support he enjoys comes from dissatisfaction with the status quo. America wants change.
It's one of the few things where Donald Trump could quote Joseph Biden at one of his rallies: you're not comparing presidential candidates to the Almighty but to their alternative, and he could be confident that no one, if that were to happen, would left his meeting due to boredom. The only thing is that Republicans and Democrats will never agree on whether it is worse to be a threat to democracy or to destroy the country, although threatening democracy ruins the country, and without a stable state there is no democracy. Voters have one worse than the other.
SKS assault rifle
"In the bushes where the assassin was, an AK-47-style rifle with a scope was found, then two backpacks that were hung on the fence and contained ceramic tiles and a GoPro camera," Sheriff Rick Bradshaw told American National Public Radio. noting that the suspect apparently intended to record what happened next.
The weapon, according to the criminal complaint against Roth, was identified as an SKS-style rifle -- a slightly older design than the AK-47. Both rifles use the same 7,62×39mm rounds, and according to the Violence Policy Center, the SKS was specifically used by Viet Cong snipers in the Vietnam War.
The center adds that SKS assault rifles have so far been used in several attacks on police officers or high-profile individuals, namely:
- an attack in June 2017 during a congressional baseball practice game in Alexandria, Virginia, in which five people were wounded, including then "Majority Whip" Steve Scalise and two Capitol Police officers;
– the November 2015 shooting at a family planning clinic in Colorado Springs, when one police officer and two civilians were killed;
– shooting in Oakland, California in March 2009, with four victims;
– a series of shootings in March 2009 at multiple locations in southern Alabama, when ten people were killed;
- an attack on a hunting camp in Birchwood, Wisconsin in November 2004, in which six people were killed and three were wounded.
