"If Russia comes out of the war strengthened and convinced that aggression pays off, Europe can count on having 'subscribed' to similar problems in the future," warns Czech President Petr Pavel
Czech President Petr Pavel condemned what he said United States of America (USA) exert much more pressure on Ukraine than on Russia and assessed that the American president Donald tramp he is trying to negotiate peace at any price, no matter how much it will cost Ukraine and Europe.
"The fact that it is now on the table, rather hints at an effort to make peace, any kind, so that Donald Trump can announce that he has succeeded in negotiating peace, regardless of how favorable it will be for Ukraine and what consequences it will have for Europe," said the Czech president during a tour of the Hradec Kralove Region in the east of the country, "Danas" reports.
Pavel criticized Trump and his team for exerting far greater pressure on Ukraine, and warned that if Russia emerges from the war strengthened and convinced that aggression pays off, Europe can count on having "subscribed" to similar problems in the future.
"From the beginning, I have been of the opinion that a compromise is necessary for peace. But it should not be an ultimatum to Ukraine and a reward for the aggressor. The peace that is agreed upon should be as fair as possible for Ukraine," Pavel said.
The President of the Czech Republic also warned that if the peace agreement contains some territorial concessions, they must not be permanent.
"If some territorial concessions are agreed upon, they could be accepted only as a temporary solution, not as a permanent legal approval of the state of the occupied territories becoming legitimately Russian," said Pavel.
He announced that he would meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Three Seas Initiative summit in Warsaw early next week to discuss a possible peace compromise that would be acceptable to Ukraine and the need for ammunition and weapons.
