Sa the most important award in his career, as he himself said, Djokovic today paraded in front of the Eiffel Tower, where there were numerous fans, among whom the luckiest managed to "throw him a bone" or take a "selfie" to remember, reports RTS.
Djokovic took the microphone on the big stage and had something to say to all those who supported him. He admitted that the last 30 hours are the most exciting in his professional life.
"Events like this only surprise me even more." I didn't expect this many people. When we approached, we did not see how many people were actually here - almost 15.000. Really incredible atmosphere and energy," said Djokovic about the championship parade.
He says the emotions he experienced on the court after winning the final are incomparable to anything he has ever experienced in his professional career.
"It continues to kind of grow, I don't know how to describe it." I feel very tired and exhausted, and on the other hand, adrenaline is still very high and this only enhances and contributes to my desire and will to continue celebrating. I can't wait to be among my people, to continue the celebration of this historic success," the Serbian tennis player points out.
When asked if the Olympic Games extended his career, Djokovic points out that he does not want to "get too stuck in the future" and talks about what his plans are.
"I think for the first time in my life I don't want to answer those questions, I want to be in the present moment, to enjoy success." I've been waiting for this all my life, 20 years of professional career. I won bronze in Beijing, I played in the semi-finals, but I could never break through that wall, enter the finals and fight for gold, and I was one of the main candidates at every Games. I managed to do it at the age of 37, now everything is prettier and sweeter and makes more sense," Djokovic emphasizes.
He says that his plan right now is just to enjoy, rest and celebrate. He mentions that he is very grateful that his family is with him in Paris, that they had the opportunity to live and experience everything that he experienced on the field.
