The water polo team of Serbia defeated Greece with 12:11 in the battle for placement in the semi-finals of the Olympic Games, in the last second of the game with a goal by Nikola Jakšić.
Goals for Serbia were scored by: Dušan Mandić five, Viktor Rašović three, Strahinja Rašović two, Nikola Jakšić, Nemanja Vico one each.
During the first part, Greece was leading, and Serbia was getting ahead of its rivals. In the second quarter, Serbia managed to increase the degree of aggressiveness in defense, and Dušan Mandić scored for 6:5.
