Just as the basketball team of Serbia was the absolute favorite at the European Championship on paper, so it is Vucicev regime in this situation. Progressives they have everything: unlimited financial resources, media dominance, support in the East and the West. Even the global political climate is favorable to them - the most searched words are not democracy and human rights, but security and armament.
On the other side are students, citizens' assemblies and, in general, rebellious society. Money is not a problem for them because they don't have any. All they have are private donations from the country and the diaspora, which is far from any secure source of income.
The position of students and classmates is not better when it comes to the media either. She from Moscow joined the progressive services for demonization and lying. In a statement worthy of Leonti Beria, she accused part of the independent media - of course "Vreme" - of being tools of Brussels for the implementation of the "Serbian "Maidan" on November 1. When this is added to the attempts to shut down United Media, it is clear that there is room for everything but the truth on the regime's televisions, portals and in the press.
Fair and honest elections, along with other demands of students and citizens, are not on the agenda of Putin and "brother" Xi. Also - neither Trump. But what about Brussels? At least there is no lack of politicians who promote the rule of law, democratic procedures, media freedom... Well, nothing, they haven't been able to register the student and people's rebellion in Serbia for ten months. Who knows, maybe they see it as a precedent whose success could threaten political castes across Europe.
When a line is drawn on the paper, it turns out that Vučić is untouchable. That's why he can swing his fist infantilely, while Đuka, Krle, DJ Vučićević, Ana Brnabić and others wave towels and chant, we won, it's over, you're in vain, it's over... After all, that's what they do all day long on their media.
WHEN THERE, HOWEVER, THAT
Stop, commenter one, says the respected reader. If so, why didn't Vučić break up the students and the rest of the Bulgarian assembly? Why did the protests grow in August when it was not their time? Can't the public see that his baton crossed with tear gas has become the main lever of power?
Slowly, one must from the beginning. With the exception of a good part of the opposition, Vučić was the only one who did not understand that winter had begun. He reacted to the mass revolt of society due to injustice and systemic corruption in a political way. It was a complete and utter failure - protests engulfed the whole of Serbia like never before.
Now, after being defeated in the battle for society, Vučić is trying to regain lost social ground by organizing "spontaneous gatherings" of extras and progressive officials of all calibers in an unidentified number of cities. He is late and wrong, as in everything else in the past ten months - the popular rebellion has moved to the political level.
Really, is there any mother's son who will vote for SNS because of the picture of the most famous brother and "child" in Serbia in the company of batinians and "Cobras"? Or anyone who believes that sad progressive gatherings are an indication of the strength of the government?
Of course, that didn't stop Vučić from making triumphalist statements and celebrating himself, similar to the ramblings of a village gypsy in a beer garden. His addresses and messages on television have largely become standard formats, such as weather forecasts and sports reports. People look at them and forget them the next day.
Sinišin Pariser
How much longer will Vučić and his followers continue to crush the suffering Serbia? No one like them destroys the stability, security and constitutional and legal order of the country. Also her future. This exhaustion may continue for some time, but not even in the medium term. Like any autocrat, Vucic has expired. The fact that it is maintained by force, inertia, small tricks and one's own singing in the forest does not change anything.
Appropriation of public money and stuffing it into parades, Ćaciland, beating gangs, various Potemkin villages, media poisoning, embedding in roundabouts and all forms of private budget pumping are paid for by the citizens of Serbia. It is about the collapse of education and healthcare, the highest cost in the region, decreasing purchasing power...
Can anyone in their full consciousness imagine the residents of Borča chanting "Better a military parade than sewage", pensioners in walkers shouting "We don't want hip surgery, we want the National Stadium, or a banner - "As long as Sinisa's Parisian is here, I don't need beef!"
It's hard-hitting, but it's true: the eclipse is thickest before dawn. This also applies to the media one. Today, all regime televisions, newspapers and portals are the same. The differences between them are smaller than those in "Izvestia" versus "Pravda" in 1975. But as in the era of real socialism, the people know that the truth lies elsewhere. In this situation, it is among the few remaining independent and professional media. If it were otherwise, the regime would not have trampled them so much or insanely financed its poison centers. In the end, it's the time of smartphones and social networks, the truth is no longer possible to hide, at least not the way the Vučić regime does it.
SWEET LIES
That's how you get to the glorious support that the head of state and all the nations together with the loyalists enjoys in the east and west, north and south. The same Russian service that targeted the independent media accused Serbia a few months ago of stabbing the Kremlin in the back by selling grenades to Ukraine. The big question is whether Moscow's statement benefits the regime or further compromises it in front of the European Union. Just for the record - it came after Vučić's meeting with Putin in Beijing and, subsequently, the simultaneous insulting of European deputies while raising tensions in the region.
The Kremlin does not believe Vučić's word, and the same applies to Berlin, Paris and Brussels. The fact that these others look down on the progressive regime is a consequence of the fact that for the European Union, giving up on Serbia would represent a defeat and a serious bureaucratic complication. Both sides therefore found a compromise in telling sweet lies to each other.
But the most important thing is that for both the East and the West, Serbia is an obscure and characterless pawn that turns as the wind blows. Everything that Vučić promises publicly, he will deny behind closed doors. In short, he turned Serbia into a buffer zone for intrigues and the aggrandizement of world power factors. It is disastrous for the country, but it is useful for the progressive regime.
INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE
Does this text have a conclusion? There is.
A huge number of students and citizens, out of moral imperative, accepted the risk of being fired from their jobs, a club on the kidney, sacrificed time and the academic year, renounced personal comfort, and even prepared for the possibility of being arrested and sitting in a lousy cell in order for Serbia to become a normal and honest country. All of them will fiercely protect this investment of theirs. All they have to do is to persevere and smartly continue what they started. The means change, the goal remains the same.
The regime can no longer avoid early elections and defeat in them. Everyone is powerless there - from Vučić and the progressive thugs, through the toxic regime media and kleptocrats, to their patrons from abroad.
