If you use an eSIM, you are one in ten mobile phone users who use it. Unless you live in the US, where this is much more common
Do you have an eSIM? If the answer is positive, it means that you are one in twenty users on average mobile phones who use it. Unless you live in the US, in which case you're two out of five. The reason why that percentage (about 40) is so much higher than in the rest of the world (about 5) is the new iPhone models for the American market, which do not have a place for a standard SIM card.
What is an eSIM? Embedded A SIM is a SIM card that is not physically inserted into the device, but is embedded as a chip in the device itself. It performs the same basic functions as a physical SIM card – user recognition on the operator's network, receiving calls, SMS, mobile data. Instead of inserting a physical card, with eSIM, the user can scan a QR code, click a link in the application or enter the settings and a new profile is downloaded "in the cloud" to the chip. Often, one device can store multiple profiles (eg one for the domestic network, another for the international network), which allows the user to adapt to the situation without physically replacing the card.
There are many reasons why eSIM is gaining popularity. Let's start with the phone manufacturer. By removing the classic SIM, it is possible to make a thinner device. What is even more important is that it removes the "doors" on the phone, i.e. the slot for SIM cards and additional memory, which makes the device more compact. Even the power and tone buttons could soon become part of the screen, it is mentioned as a possible option on one of the next iPhone models.
However, the most important reason to switch from a physical to an electronic SIM card is profit. When eSIM appeared in 2016, it was first accepted by smaller companies and startups recognizing in it the possibility to offer competitive services, primarily in roaming. Instead of the user on a trip asking to buy a card to insert into the phone, the complete service was received through an already present eSIM connected to the appropriate application. Thus, he could adjust the consumption of data or calls at very favorable prices. As that market has grown significantly, major operators have decided to get seriously involved and offer their users competitive prices on their own eSIM cards.
Practicality should not be neglected either. By abolishing plastic cards and chips and switching to electronic ones, significant savings on printing and distribution are achieved. Since modern devices have a built-in chip for accepting eSIMs, it is expected that the number of users will increase several times in the coming years, while by 2030 the majority would use eSIMs.
The Chinese market is the most important in this expansion. China previously did not allow the use of electronic SIM cards, but recently that policy has changed. eSIM is now expected to take over Android devices just as it became mainstream on the (US) iPhone. The real application of eSIMs will be in many other devices of the so-called Internet of Things (IoT), including in cars.
This does not mean that the classic SIM card will disappear. It will be indispensable in classic mobile phones that do not have access to the Internet, and which still have a significant application. Embedding eSIM chips in them would be too expensive and unnecessary. Also, another issue that will have to be addressed is the identification of eSIM users in order to prevent their use for crime and terrorism.
eSIM is not only a technical innovation, but a paradigm shift, opening new fields for mobile business development. For the user, this means one less reason to go to the operator's office, for the operator the possibility to offer one user several packages at the same time, depending on his current needs. For example, instead of roaming, we would use a local card with all privileges, without doing anything with the device. Especially if the operators are owned by the same company.

Even if the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime does its job in the Nadstrešnica and General Staff cases, as well as many others, it is debatable whether the police will agree to arrest the suspects
Two men on two chairs symbolize the downfall of our politics, because neither Bajatović's Russians nor Đurić's Americans are now friendly towards Serbia. Admittedly, according to facial expressions, Russophiles are more apathetic. The third chair, next to Đurić, is symbolically empty, which tells us that there is no hope that someone else, say the Chinese brothers, will help us. What else does the picture "quiet walk" say?
Writing a novel is a completely exhausting experience for Rilke and after it he will not be able to write anything new for several years, he will live in complete agony that he has dried up and that as a poet he will no longer be able to create anything. Of course, he turned to Lou Salome for help, and she introduced him to Freud in 1913. None of these encounters bring him any help or relief. He remains in fear that healing would destroy his creativity, that "with the disappearance of his devils, his angels would also disappear."
Declaring that Vučić is the real target of the Prosecutor's Office for organized crime, Selaković almost alluded to the American anti-mafia law RICO - not only those who directly participated in criminal acts are prosecuted, but also those who were at the head of the organization that committed them. And it is known who leads the progressive government
The progressive victories of Pyrrhus in Mionica, Negotin and Sečnje turn the constitutional and legal order of the Republic of Serbia into a hotbed. With that, Vučić became an elementary disaster that affects all citizens. It's simple - the country has been handed over to the gangs
The previous days were painful for Partizan fans, the next will be the same. Their dream was taken away, once again with the great Željko Obradović on the roof of Europe. Now only one thing is clear - Ostoja Mijailović must leave and thus prevent even greater damage
