Get-together progressive in ninety-five cities of Serbia as a sign of support Vucic it's not news, but a fight between them in Veternik. And it was at that counter rally that Maja Gojković, Vučević and the mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, marched. They were there in the capacity of special purpose citizens, they did not see or hear anything.
The veterinary exchange of uppercuts and crochets comes straight from the foundations of the SNS. While the party trustees publicly sing "Aco Serbs, we swear to you", mutual confrontations are taking place behind closed doors. About a year ago, they raised Vučić by putting wolves on mugs and similar objects. This symbol proved to be perfectly suitable for them. In SNS, man is a wolf to man.
Vučić built the party on the usurpation of public resources. Activists and careerists in SNS carry in a yellow bag with a sandwich and juice a potential state position and the associated rocket-powered enrichment. With a strong sponsor and a bit of luck, one can overnight become a director of a public company, a mayor, a minister of something and - of course - a prime minister. All that the pretender needs is results in obtaining votes by all means and a prowess in arming the sultanist cult of personality.
Meetings of SNS bodies are not forums where party policy is determined, but training grounds for exalted oaths of loyalty. Also an opportunity for setting up business, incorporation, division of spheres of interest, distribution of synakura. In theory, it is known who is Maja Gojković's man and who is Mirović's and what belongs to him. There is no rise of one without the fall of the other. Hence so much intrigue, name-calling in the tabloids, and there were also fights in the committees.
If there was ever any enthusiasm within the SNS, it evaporated long ago. The other rival factions in the interest-business organization are united by fear of the future and losing positions for which they are neither capable nor worthy. These cadres act like Soviet bureaucrats in the late era of Leonid Brezhnev. They stroll from function to function, unchanging, ossified, overcome, without any idea in their heads, dedicated to their own enrichment and collection of privileges. The energy they produce working for the benefit of citizens is not even enough to charge the battery of a digital watch.
The formal president of the SNS, Miloš Vučević, is like a boy who has to ask his dad to participate in even the most innocent game. Every time Bata Gašić stands in front of the microphone, a scandal is inevitable. Ana Brnabić's actions and statements correspond to skin irritation after a mosquito bite. The rest range from one member of the aforementioned trio to another. But the majority of progressive officials are unable to say anything else except "Thanks to President Vučić"... It's risky. Those who remain silent and do only what they are told cannot make a mistake.
If this is how it is at the top of the SNS - and it is - how is it at its lower levels? Everything that seduces at the national level is multiplied locally. Vučić himself admits this when he occasionally calls out the leaders from the interior. However, there are no others, and it is unlikely that there will be any. The examples of ambitious overflights show why each of the candidates must accept the withdrawal of legal and professional capacity before entering the program of in-depth skelezhalization. Today, this corresponds to completing an application for consent to criminal prosecution.
Vučić announced the Movement for the People and the State in order to revive the tired and dying party. Here is a new beginning, without tails of progressive affairs and other inactions. As far as this corresponds to reality, there is Đura Matsuta alive and well, so let him say. He is the only known prime minister during whose mandate the police had a torture chamber in the Government building... Apart from a little cosmetics, nothing can be done in a party that pays extras applause at rallies.
In this situation, Vučić ended up in the longest political crisis in recent history. Knowing better than anyone the capacities and rating of all his people, he pulled out the strongest progressive weapon. That is - himself. His speeches probably somewhat stabilized the party and appeased those who believe that Vučić personally pays their salaries and pensions, and also procures medicines. This has worked so far, but - will it continue?
Namely, over time, Vučić's logoreia became a material for ridicule on social networks. Constant threats and his claims of victory over the "color revolution" were denied daily by the spread of protests. The credibility of the head of state and the entire SNS with coalition partners found itself in free fall.
Until mid-August, Vučić kept SNS on the political sidelines. Instead of political activists, he relied on paid čati and beaters, and turned party committees into their arsenals and services. His goal was to show how the "silent majority" finally raised their heads and stood in line with the "blockaders". The effect was reversed. It turned out that mercenary squadrons of thugs and brutal police kept him in power, so he was forced to write letters from readers in foreign newspapers. It is interesting that he did not engage any professional spreader of the truth about Serbia in the West.
In the end, Vučić still won the game. In the already proverbial copying of students and rebellious society, he started a wave of support for himself. Those gatherings in less than a hundred towns in Serbia are devoid of elementary content. The core of them is expressing paid love to the head of state. Sclerotic as it is, the SNS could not have come up with anything better.
Those rallies additionally serve progressive voters. Instead of being proactive, they showed all the splendor of reactivity; instead of contributing to the country's stability, they further destabilize it; instead of showing the strength of the party, they ridicule it. In the same framework, Vučić presented "wonderful measures" for a certain period of time. Although citizens have nothing against cheaper sausages or mayonnaise, they care incomparably more about ending systemic corruption, the rule of law and democracy. And none of this is offered on the shelves of SNS.
By destroying normal political and parliamentary life, Vučić also crippled his own party. In the institutional wasteland, she too became redundant, replaced by the Informer as a direct link between the leader and the people. And why not? DJ Vučićević is not saying what he hears from progressive ministers and MPs, but they are repeating his sentences from the "Kolegium".
Although still a formidable parastatal machinery that has looted people's money, massacred institutions and saddled the vast majority of the media, the SNS is approaching the loss of power. In that context, probably also its own disintegration. Except for the private interests of party tycoons, corruptors, politicians, intriguers, local kabadahs and their crony clientele, that party no longer represents anyone. Of course, they will stop at nothing to ride Serbia at the spur of the moment for at least another year, month, day, hour, minute, second... But the fear has disappeared, the lies have been broken, and all the promises have been betrayed.
