Students from the informal group STAV were attacked early this morning in front of the Rector's building in Novi Sad, reports 021. rs. Two students received first aid on the spot, and were then transported to the Emergency Center.
The activist of the informal group STAV Branislav Đorđević said that two of his colleagues were injured in this morning's scuffle at the entrance to the Rectorate building in Novi Sad and added that an explosive device was thrown before that, which fortunately did not injure anyone.
"When we arrived, we saw that 15 people were inside with masks and carrying credentials, which turned out to be some kind of student conference at the Rectorate for Cyber Security, what do you know, some made-up event... And about half an hour while we were here, we noticed we are three guys behind the rampart. Two female colleagues and a male colleague went to see what was happening. They threw an explosive device at that moment. "We don't know if it was a stun bomb, a cannon shot or something else, since it didn't explode like a firecracker," said Branislav Đorđević.
"It exploded, we watched what was happening and all of a sudden more and more security appeared to finally culminate after 45 minutes where 15 of them from the outside are trying to enter and 15 of them from the inside are pushing us out of the door," Djordjevic adds.
He explains that the students stood at the door with the intention of not letting anyone enter the Rectorate.
"They threw us off the bench, started to forcefully enter, we tried to prevent it." At that moment, someone hit Milo hard in the leg with a foot or something. A colleague of Srđan's, who introduced himself as the organizer of the conference, broke the phone and hit him. There was a policeman present there who tried to calm them down so they wouldn't attack us," said a student from the STAV group.
The police are on the spot and identify the students, while the students Mila Pajić and Srđan Đurić were given emergency help on the spot, and then they were transported to the Emergency Center.
How it all started
We would like to remind you that the elections for the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Philosophy should begin around 8:XNUMX am.
Students from the STAV group gathered early this morning in front of the Rector's Office to prevent another vote.
However, around 5.30:XNUMX a.m. some kind of explosive device was thrown at them, the explosion of which reverberated throughout the center of Novi Sad.
In front of the building there is a group of men dressed in black and they are not letting students enter the Rectorate.
The police are on the spot and identify the students, while the students Mila Pajić and Srđan Đurić were given emergency help on the spot, and then they were transported to the Emergency Center.
Blockade of the Rectorate
Let us remind you that this summer STAV students blocked the Rector's office in order to prevent the holding of elections, because they believe that elections can only be organized in the faculty building. During the two-week protest, students hung banners on the Rector's building criticizing Rector Dejan Madić, and the motto of the blockade was "One list is not a choice".
STAV has so far blocked the holding of elections in the Faculty of Philosophy three times and filed disciplinary charges against the President of the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Philosophy Ivana Macak and member of the election commission Aleksandar Gajić - due to physical violence.
Aleksandar Gajić also physically assaulted his colleagues during the election blockade.
The Movement of Free Citizens previously announced that Macak and Gajić are currently employed in the Assembly of Vojvodina, which was confirmed to journalists by that institution.
