"If Dragan Marković Palma calls me, who is not anonymous, 15 times so that I finally block him, what kind of torture and pressure are victims of pedophilia and those who are suspected of being able to say something about the case subjected to torture and pressure," says Sanda Rašković Ivića after his statement that the government should fall after accusations of pimping minors in Jagodina.
The vice-president of the People's Party did not have to wait long for an answer to her question. As the lord of the part of Pomoravlje and the whole of Jagodina announced, 396 women from this town filed a criminal complaint against Marinika Tepić. What do these public sector employees charge her with? Short and simple - "causing panic and disorder". Why? Because "in the media, she insulted all the women of Jagodina in the most disgusting and terrible way possible."
Where does this lead? Then to the Senior Public Prosecutor in Jagodina, Radoslav Vučković. He does not see any reason to transfer the procedure to his colleagues in another city. As he said, there is no basis: he is not biased, he is not related to the persons in the case. However, the fact that Plama went to the Prosecutor's Office at his own discretion instead of at the invitation of this state body speaks volumes.
It is - "to make it clear to the people" - about the well-trodden path of the president of Serbia who, out of the most transparent demagogic impulses, files criminal charges against himself and goes to the polygraph, knowing in advance what the outcome will be. Palm is counting on the same treatment in the city where it holds absolutely all the levers of power, political and economic alike, for almost two decades.
Does prosecutor Vučković really believe that possible witnesses will be able to come forward freely without fear for their existence? From the criminal report against Tepić, doesn't the 396 women from the public sector in Jagodna show him what kind of atmosphere the proceedings will take place in?
If he has to take care of Palma, state prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac should be in a completely different position. But even twelve thousand signatures of citizens demanding the transfer of the case is not enough reason for her to react adequately. Is she also afraid of Jagodinski's revenge? overlord and, especially, from his incomparably more powerful partners?
During this time, Palma tries to use the standard repertoire of insults, threats, demonization and selling the fog to transfer the case to the political field. The fact that the progressives are silent is no indication that he has been "let down the drain." Namely, no one from this party thinks of doing anything until Aleksandar Vučić speaks up. And he - there is every opportunity - is still weighing benefits and harm, opportunities and consequences...
Only one thing is certain. Anyone who, through political maneuvers, pressures and behind-the-scenes actions, prevents an honest and independent investigation in the case of Dragan Marković Palma, will be an accomplice in everything that Marinika Tepić has publicly accused him of.
