Koković: The human factor is crucial
Mirko Koković from the Agency for Traffic Safety says that this is one of the most serious traffic accidents in Serbia this year, when it comes to commercial transport, i.e. vehicles such as buses and trucks.
Due to their dimensions, mass and construction, such accidents have very serious consequences, and additional factors make them even more dangerous.
"According to statistics, every fourth person loses their life in such traffic accidents in Serbia, while every fifth person is injured," says Koković.
He points out that the human factor is the cause in as many as 97 percent of traffic accidents.
It is especially important, he says, for professional drivers to undergo regular medical examinations.
According to regulations, they must be examined at least once every three years, which is determined by the competent medical commission.
A large number of people donate blood.

"As soon as we received information about the tragedy and traffic accident, we appealed to all fellow citizens and voluntary blood donors to respond to today's action. Already in the first hour, we had about 90 registered voluntary donors and humane fellow citizens who came to help," Tatjana Jovančević from the Red Cross told N1.
The action will last as long as there are people who want to donate blood, and she pointed out that on Friday there were enough reserves to take care of all the injured.
The action is also organized in Novi Sad at the Institute for Blood Transfusion of Vojvodina, and tomorrow the action will be organized in Ruma as well.
