"I decided to take responsibility for all the bad things that happened in the season and of course I stuck to that decision."
Obradovic said that the decision was very difficult. "I think we have written a story that will be difficult to repeat. But that will solely depend on you, the fans." Partizan, because you are the strength of this club and you have done things that are recognized all over the world."
He said that some things "are best left in the family." He criticized that things were brought up that should have remained only in the club.
He described the conversation with club president Osto Mijailović as "correct".
He confirmed that Mijailović asked to add to the text of the farewell letter that "irrevocable" resignation because it will be easier for him because of the fans. "Of course, I agreed with that. And that was the end for me. I no longer had any qualms about standing behind that decision."
"I couldn't do it anymore. I didn't have the strength in me anymore. I gave everything I could and don't blame me because you know how much I put myself into what I love the most," Obradović said.
"This decision of mine is very stressful, and I probably experienced the most difficult moments in my life when I was alone returned to Belgrade and when you waited for me. "
As he says, he came to the club one more time to talk with the people he worked with and "who invest enormous energy". He says that the discussion was open and everyone told him that they did not want his resignation.
"I asked the president what had changed since the moment he thanked me and accepted my resignation," said Obradovic. As he says, it was obviously the reaction of the fans that changed things.
But regardless, he added, he stood by his decision.
He asked the players to be the strength of the team, to cheer on the team "with even more enthusiasm".
"This situation is not normal and it is not good for Partizan. Also, I think the responsibility lies with the club's first man, the president Ostoja Mijailović, and I told him that," said Obradović.
As he added, many people from the club's Assembly and the Board of Directors left the club.
"I appeal to everyone to think, to be united and to support our club. That there are no incidents, that we do not get into a situation where we Euroleague punishes, and we fought so hard to return to the Euroleague," Obradović said.
He thanked the fans for their support, love and strength.
He added that some things in the functioning of the club during the summer "were not normal", especially because sports director Zoran Savić did not have a contract.
"I was not a little surprised when I received the information that Brandon Davis should leave the club, and that Osetkovski should be signed. Although I told the president that he was not a player for us at that moment, he said that we had already signed him."
He later praised Osetkovski as a true professional.
"The club needed to tour Australia," he said. "Unfortunately, the players cheated on us."
As he said, he asked to bring in a tall player, but it didn't work out for a long time. "To bring in Bruno, we had to fire Frank Nilikina, the playmaker."
He underlined that the club refused to fly to the game against Dubai by charter, citing a lack of money. "We have to go back to that big budget story. It's not very logical." As he said, business class was not reserved either.
After Partizan's defeat, says Obradović, the president of the club sent him a message in which he "sarcastically thanked" for his support after receiving insults from fans.
"I always say that no one should be offended in our Arena. I still think that to this day."
As he said, since then he has had "no" relationship with Mijailović.
"Of course, I will never attack the players," added Obradovic. "Everything I have to say to them, I said to their face."
"The club has to work for all segments of the club to work as one. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case this season," he said. "I begged him a couple of years ago, when there were terrible attacks on him and on me and on Partizan, that the club must react."
As he says, he did not receive support from Mijailović.
"I was going through a lot of things," said Obradovic, adding that he had to deal with many other things. "I couldn't leave for Partizan because it is my greatest love and what I wanted to live."
Speaking about the great pressure, which he has been feeling for 35 years, Obradović said that marginal things took away his energy. "You know the environment we live in," he said.
As he added, with his address he wants the stories to stop. "This club will live without Željko Obradović and without all the big names that have gone through the history of the club," he said.
"Never give up on Partizan," he told the fans. "I hope and I would like that this is not the last time I'm in Partizan," Obradović said, but he didn't know when and how.
