The world premiere of a documentary about the best tennis player of all time Novak Djokovic was held in mid-July at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, and among the guests were a large number of world-famous figures from the world of sports, including Zlatan Ibrahimović, Mike Tyson, Gianni Infantino, Bogdan Bogdanović, Roberto Carlos and others.
The documentary is signed by award-winning director Jason Hehir, who directed the world-famous series "The Last Dance" about Michael Jordan and the famous Chicago Bulls generation.
The film shows intimate conversations with Novak, his wife Jelena, but also the biggest names in the world of tennis, including one of his biggest rivals. Rafael Nadal. Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras and Boris Becker also speak in the film about Novak.
Premiere in Montenegro
Less than a month after the World Cup, the Balkan premiere of the film about the greatest Serbian athlete followed, but outside of Serbia. "Vijesti" from Podgorica announced that the film "Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter" was shown on Tuesday, August 11, at the Forza Kuk restaurant on the Kotor-Lovćen cable car, in front of about 200 guests.
In the video from the Montenegrin premiere published by "Vijesti", Novak Djokovic says that the premiere in New York was world-class, but that this one is much more intimate and personal for him, because his family and friends are there.
Among those present were famous athletes - basketball players Vlade Divac and Nemanja Nedović, soccer players Stevan Jovetić and Marko Pantelić, as well as people from the world of business. Videos of the guests playing a round with Djokovic after the premiere also appeared on social networks.
Djokovic's decision that the "Balkan premiere" of the film about his life will not take place in Serbia, given that the progressive regime is hostile towards him since he supported student protests and "pumped" at tournaments - The best tennis player of all time found himself the target of attacks by regime media and politicians.
Chief editor of Informer Dragan J. Vučićević he called him a "failed tennis player" while he was president Aleksandar Vučić, reading one boy's letter instead of "I'm watching world tennis champion Novak Djokovic," which was clearly written on the paper captured by the camera, read on the live program as "I train basketball and watch the Euroleague and I love Nikola Jokic."
Djokovic, who is known as a great patriot, decided to live with his family in Athens. The government of the country where he was born and for which he won the gold medal in tennis for the first time in the history of Olympic players, made it clear to him that he was no longer welcome.
There will hardly be a premiere in Serbia
Whether "The Wolf in Winter" will be shown in Belgrade before or after the official release on the Prime Video platform on August 20 is not yet known. Although, it seems that this is not realistic, because Novak is playing at the Masters in Cincinnati this week, after which he is waiting for the US Open, where he will try to win the 25th Grand Slam title and break his own record.
