At the end of the 19th century, we had only one policy that was good, that included the entire nation and that had clear ideas about what we needed; it was the policy of the radical party.
Before the war, during the war, and after the war, only one policy was good, only one policy included the entire nation and had clear ideas about what we need. That was the policy of the Blessed King.
Thirty-five years ago, the radical party encompassed the entire Serbian community, and its political desire and longing was not only deep, but also logical. With the policy of the radical party, a centuries-old process in the revival of Serbia ended. Not only her party connections, but also her press and her political connection crossed fictitious state borders and connected with ideas.
And with the victories of Serbia, twenty-three years ago, that policy with a military element only came to a worthy end. But it was an entire nation that wished for, prepared, and expected the Balkan wars. No class army went to that war.
The medium in the Balkan environment, in the old Presava church organizations, in the municipalities of Slavonia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Primorje, was an unusually tragic and tenacious political community, the Radical Party, Serbia, at the end of the last century, as if in some general severe fever, in all Serbian houses , of deep political morality from herself, from her peasantry, she ended that whole development in blood. She finished exceptionally.
During the world war, our people, in all tribes, had enough people ready to die for the ideas of our union and fusion, but was it a big, broad political party, logical, strong, with a conscious program and traditions?
The policy of the Blessed King is, first of all, heroic because it replaced an entire political party. One great political vision of his, Yugoslavia, is a European necessity, our national inevitability, destiny, but in no one's eyes did it become so bright and indelible so quickly. After the monarch who folded the old, military flags, gave the name to the state which until then was only a poetic creation, when it comes to Yugoslavianism, all other politicians turned out to be apprentices to a master.
What usually takes tens of years, political upbringing, economic union, new generations indifferent to the old, the Blessed King did immediately and by himself, often against all advice. Never was his hard character brighter than among the stars. Time has yet to come for him, for his political thought.
Usually, in His Yugoslavism, the features of acceptance of Slavic and Croatian stand out. A truer friend never passed through our western parts. But isn't his political greatness even greater when viewed on the issue of renunciation, Serbian renunciation. It is usually tragic, and sometimes tragicomic, about our Western separatists. But those gentlemen forget that, upon abandoning the politics of the Blessed King, another party, the Serbian party, would be born in separatism. And that like a torrent.
The continuation of the policy of the Blessed King makes everything that is done in our politics sublime. By abandoning the policy of the Blessed King, it would all be a comedy. Terrible comedy.
He who continues the policy of the Blessed King works for the good of a suffering nation, and does not waste time.
With him is the great dream of the King's life, given for that bright political vision in which only one big political party is possible that is as much Slovenian, Croatian, as Serbian.
In our opinion, from a nationalist point of view, those who work abroad against this country are much less dangerous than those who are in favor of abandoning the policy of the Blessed King at home.
You need to have faith, even in politics. In our opinion, today in our politics, people are divided, and should be divided, into only two camps. What divides them, I think, is understandable even to the smallest of our people, even in the most remote regions of our country, when it comes to political issues.
With politics, big, bright, nationalist, or with separatist politics?
With the policy of the Blessed King, with his eternal trail, with his bright dream, or against him?
There is no third.
