Novak Đoković, the best tennis player of all time, officially left the Association of Professional Tennis Players, in whose founding he participated.
He posted on social networks and revealed why he made this decision.
"After careful consideration, I have made the decision to fully withdraw from the Professional Tennis Players Association. This decision comes after continued concerns about transparency, governance and the way my voice and image have been presented," Djokovic wrote on social media.
He continued in the same tone, and he reminded that he participated in the founding of this useful organization together with Vasek Pospišil, with whom he has known for a long time and is friends off the field.
"I am proud of the vision I shared with Vasek when founding the PTPA, giving the players a stronger, independent voice – but it became clear that my values and approach were no longer aligned with the current direction of the organization," Djokovic added.
He wants to concentrate on tennis, as the start of the new season awaits him soon - the tournament in Adelaide, and then the appearance at the Australian Open.
"I will continue to focus on my tennis, my family and contributing to the sport in ways that reflect my principles and integrity. I wish the players and everyone involved the best as they move forward, but for me this chapter is now closed," underlined Djokovic.
