The ensemble of the play "What are you sleeping on the floor" gave applause to the students, and the audience of the "Gavela" Theater in Zagreb gladly accepted it.
On Thursday in Zagreb, in the City Theater "Gavela", the ensemble of the play "What are you sleeping on the floor" unfurled a banner with the inscription "Applause to the students" during the presentation to the audience at the end of the performance.
They dedicated the applause addressed to them to the students in the blockade. And, as can be seen in the video from social networks, the viewers did not mind.
"They continued to clap, it means that they wanted to be a part of that action by the actors, even though it was sudden," Martina Matota, PR manager of Gavela, told the "Vremena" portal.
He explains that "What are you sleeping on the floor" is a co-production play that, in addition to "Gavela", was also realized by the Serbian National Theater from Novi Sad, the Sarajevo National Theater and the International Theater Festival MESS - Scena MESS.
"The transparent was brought by actors from Novi Sad," says Martina Matota, and "we had nothing against it."
He notes that "Sto na podu spaš" was premiered at the end of November 2023 and that since then it has been one of the most watched "Gavela" plays, as if viewers love it in other parts of the region as well.
"This was not an isolated case in our theater." After the premiere of 'Don Juan returns from the war' on February 18, the director Paolo Maggeli said that he supports the students in Belgrade".
The play "What you sleep on the floor" was directed by Kokan Mladenović based on the novel of the same name by Darko Cvijetić.
It is the story of brother Bota, who is going to serve his military service in the then Yugoslav People's Army, in the "Viktor Bubanj" barracks in Sarajevo, before his 19th birthday, where war conflicts will begin in a few days. The novel "Sto na podu spavaš" was published by the Literary Workshop "Rašić".
The play was the absolute winner of "Joakimfest" in 2023 with three awards, received the "Gavelina Award" in Zagreb, the best at "Theatrical Spring" in Šabac...

Punk-rock legends Goblini will perform on July 9 in Donji Grad on Kalemegdan as the opening act for world star Billy Idol, at a big Belgrade concert organized by the production company Long Play
A characteristic of each of the narrative streams is learning about different forms of resistance. That's why I wrote the novel under a working title Resistance, although I knew I wouldn't publish it under that title. Over time, I realized that there is a common denominator between that working title and the place where the action takes place - the mountain Rtanj, two letters that remind us of the chemical element that the heroes of my novel are fighting for. And that is the "Cape", which, in addition to denoting the protruding free part of the land, is also a symbol for Freedom - a critical mineral that we desperately lack.
The forty years that have passed since the release of probably the most important garage blues-rock release in this area makes us think about the far-reaching importance of the "Partibrejkers" group. If you were crazy and brave enough, that is, if you even existed in the early eighties - you couldn't stay the same after listening to their first record. Today we would say that the sound delivered on it was pure punk with attitude, but also with the taste, smell and sensuality of the city of Belgrade from that long ago in 1985. And that of at least a billion decibels. It was impossible to go further than that. And you shouldn't
RTS is blocked, universities do not work, and threats, insults and calls to the prosecutor's office and the police to arrest blockers, rioters and terrorists are pouring out from the top of the government. The Serbian state has turned into a farce
Anyone who condemns the regime's targeting of people from the media, the non-governmental sector, the opposition and universities, must not agree to this targeting of RTS editors and journalists either.
